After watching the press conference, it seems to me Fisher is oblivious to the fact that if they don't take the 49/51 deal, they have absolutely no chance of getting a deal close to something in their favor and WILL NOT have a season AT ALL.

    Deal on table until Wednesday

NEW YORK -- Commissioner David Stern gave NBA players an offer and a deadline: Accept a chance to earn up to 51 percent of basketball-related income by Wednesday or get ready for a deal that's a whole lot worse.

If players don't agree to it by Wednesday, Stern said they would get a deal that would guarantee them just 47 percent of BRI and call for a flex salary cap.

"We hope that this juxtaposition will cause the union to assess its position and accept the deal," Stern said.

    Union rejects owners' latest offer

NEW YORK -- NBA players made it clear Tuesday: No deal.

No fear of commissioner David Stern's ultimatum, either.

If players don't take the deal by 5 p.m. Wednesday, the next offer will call for salary rollbacks, a 53-47 revenue split in the owners' favor and essentially a hard salary cap.

And, Hunter said he heard, games canceled through Christmas -- though NBA spokesman Mike Bass said the league had nothing to announce about cancellations.

I was reading what Nick Young was saying about MJ. Shows how many classes he skipped at USC. Its all economics, please switch on that 60 inch flatscreen of yours and watch the news. The USA is broke, the country is in dire straits, the job situation is terrible and here you are talking about something that happened many years ago, but cannot seem to understand its BUSINESS.

After my previous post,it just gets ridiculous everyday. Makes the players look more greedy and I just want to see who will flip first, Billy Hunter (wont respect him more, anyways) or Derek Fisher.

    David Stern....you sly thing you.

I still think that the lockout will work itself out. It may not be this week or next week but I do belive that there will be nba basketball this season. Both sides have more to lose than they will gain by not playing. Also you can see how both sides are inching closer to a deal. Utlimately there will be a deal done. Neither side will get everything that they want but it will be more than enough for both sides to eat.

5 p.m. deadline passes, talks continue

    November 9, 2011, 5:22 PM ET

NEW YORK -- Commissioner David Stern's deadline has passed while the NBA and its players continue negotiating in an attempt to end the lockout.

The two sides met for more than four hours Wednesday to try to hash out a deal to end the 132-day lockout. The meeting got under way at 1 p.m. ET in New York, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.

I'm sure there will be more news as the night goes on whether there is a deal or not.

At this point I really don;t care how much money the players and the owners lose. They are all being greedy. I feel sorry for the rest of workers that all of this is affecting.
