Still there are no excuses, international shipping never exceeds 5.00, usually it's under 3.00
It's a cash grab, and it only loses him money(lots of Canada hockey fans)
It doesn't cost 16.00 to send a item from California to bc, no way
shipping does not cost 16.00

The seller isn't using standard shipping. Standard shipping to Canada from the U.S is under $3. They specifically state they are using registered shipping which is around $16. It's easy for sellers to lose their money if a buyer claims the package was "lost". Within the U.S, sellers can get delivery confirmation at a low cost to protect against this. For PayPal to side with the seller in the event of a claim, the seller needs to prove the item was delivered, hence the registered shipping and increased cost. Obviously not all sellers do this but this seller probably had a bad expierence shipping internationally.

But realistically how many cards that aren't over 100.00 is he going to sell with that price of shipping?
I'm going to guess close to 0

The post office doesn't care if the value is $1 or up to a certain amount (I don't know what the max insurance amount is). They're going to charge the same amount for a registered package. It certainly is not a good business decision on the seller's part but you're only looking at it from a buyer's perspective.

if you dont want your card to get lost in mail ,collectors will pay tracked shipping , plus it helps with people saying they never recieved there item , as a seller too my cards over 50.00 must be shipped registered tracking and its 15.00 canada to usa , so his price is very reasonable . dunno what the problem is , just saying

$16 to ship a card to Canada is ridiculous.
