    Angry postoffice

    hear about the postoffice is laying off couple of thousand of poeple by spring time, thats what the news said. its going to slow the mail down big time. lots of poeple are going to be real mad about that!!!!!

    They have been on a down-spiral money wise. It sucks that they have to get rid of employees but that is the only way they can survive. I hop this time they can come around and start making some money so that is does not get worst.

    They have been on a down-spiral money wise. It sucks that they have to get rid of employees but that is the only way they can survive. I hop this time they can come around and start making some money so that is does not get worst.

    If they'd cut some of their retirement benefits they wouldn't be in deep of hole. Cops don't even get that much in pay or benefits & yet they risk their lives on a daily basis. Seems off balance to me but I guess.

    Different employers. USPS is a quasi-government organization that is controlled and regulated by the government, but is funded solely by postal fees. Cops are government employees.

    The logic in closing some locations makes sense to me. They are closing the sorting center here in Bluefiled, WV. People have complained but there is a sorting facility 106 miles away in Charleston, WV, another one 200 miles away in Knoxville, TN and I think a 3rd one 110 miles away in Roanoke, VA, so keeping the Bluefield one open seems kind of silly.

    i think that will start jan. 1st of 2012 thats the mailman tells me, and shes mad about that!!!!

    of course she is mad..takes away a day of pay..plus makes her monday delivery even worse!!

    i have not...would be interesting to see how that could/would work out??

    all i know is if the USPS goes away for good...mailing anything is going to be RETARDED expensive going through UPS/FEDEX

    You do mean local (city,county & state) government employees right unless they are the stormtroopers of the alphabet soup armies?
