Apparently Dallas is not going to sign some of it's players like Barea, Chandler to pursue either Williams and/or Paul and Howard.
Also read somewhere yesterday that the Lakers wanto to get both Howard and Paul and they are willing to trade everyone but Bryant.

Sure a small market team can win in the NBA for a few years if you draft really well for several of those years (Like Oklahoma City), but if those guys won't resign with you even if you offer a max contract, then you know there is a problem.
In the NFL/MLB a lot of teams go into the season thinking they have a chance to win, in the NBA that doesn't happen. I already know the Pistons have no chance to do anything, that's the problem.
