I think the same thing. I remember back in the day where the autographs had print runs /2000 and thought "their hands must have hurt!"

Not sure what is your question but 1999 and 999 is a lot of card and does not add much value to them even for rookies. I see print run of 100 or less as adding value to a card more so if they are rookie.
A print run of 100 is very easy to get. I would say even at 25 they are fairly easy to get if you fetch the money. What become much harder is under 25 and this is also why Beckett do not price these.
Once thing is that many will try to sell to low print run to make the money so they can buy what they really want. This is why print run are fairly easy to find since people value then thus unless they really want them, they eventually will sell them for most.

Its worth it to some, especially those trying to complete rainbows:

Also set collectors and people who specialize in numbered inserts. See some of kidKanada's posts.
If you are talking 05-06 to present, most can be had at the prices you a requoting. If you are taking about late 90's though, I'd grab them, expecially if they are the good looking ones.
However, if they are trying to sell at 10-20% bv and after a while there still aren't many takers that probably tells you how much chance at a profit you can make with them.
Cheers,

For example, I have a Ice Premiere numbered to 2999. !2999!
That sucks!
Also, with a highend product like SPGU why do they have rookies to /999? In most cases you are paying $150+ on a box can't we get a little lower of a print run?
The Cup normal ARP to /249 are also a bit high IMO. /200 would be nice.
Suprinsgly SPA rookies sell extremeley well considering they are numbered to /999. Basically there are a thousand copies and they still bring in a nice buck.

If you pull the First Card in a Serial Numbered group, the Players Number that corresponds to the Serial Number, or the last Serial Numbered Card in the group, that is considered an.......
eBay 1/1
Yup, lets say that there are 100 cards printed, and you pull a Mario Lemieux #1/100, then you pull a #66/100, then you pull a #100/100.
Those are all considered eBay 1/1's Lol, and MORONS will pay sometimes double what the card actually Books for.

I don't know if I'd say "morons". If a Lemieux collector wants a PC of #66/XXX, what exactly is "moronic about that? Same question for wanting the first print run.
I will say, since I don't have a collection like that, I wouldn't pay a premium for it, and might even shake my head a little, but if that's what they want, that's what they want. Whether it goes over the "book" value or not is meaningless to the real world value.

There is nothing moronic about it, it's people collections
Some people like that, other people may say collecting Old opeechee cards is a moronic choice
If your not into it, oh well, but don't call other people morons if they has different interests in collecting than you
