Hall vs Seguin
I've been doing a lot of research and game watching lately on Seguin and Hall to decide who I should focus on.
Many people believe that Seguin is going through a hot phase and will cool down. Where Hall will continue to get better and become a superstar.
Who do you think will be "better"?
Even though Hall was drafted #1 and Seguin #2, iirc Seguin was supposed to be the top pick.
Seguin already has a cup and is on a solid team (for the next while)
Seguin plays centre and usually means higher exposure in hobbying
Hall plays on a very young team with a lot of potential
Hall plays in Canada

I did not vote..... becuase really I'm not sure.
I'm not sure where the idea that Seguin was 'supposed' to be the #1 pick came from. My opinion was that talk of Seguin being the #1 pick that year was similar to Hedman or Duchene being the #1 pick - created by the media becuase without the talk, there isn't much of a story leading up to the draft.
Seguin's Cup victory will always get him some love from Bruins collectors (like anyone on that team will get) but I can't see that it will still have any major value boost to his hobby love 5 years from now.
Likewise, Hall's status as a #1 overall pick meant that his cards last year (and for a couple of years still) get a bump...... which will also be rather meaningless in 5 years.
Being on a Canadian team does give Hall an advantage. He won't turn into the hobby equivalent of Rick Nash, but playing in Boston means that was never going to happen to Seguin either.
Not sure that the posistion thing will have much of an effect. Joe Thornton isn't exactly topping the hot lists, despite being one of the best point producing centres for the last decade.
It will inevitably come down to how they perform. Both are on teams that will give them an oppertunity to rack up lots of points (at least, in theory) so winning will be the big thing, IMO.
I guess I think there's a better chance that Hall leads the league in goals than Seguin leading the league in points.... and being a league leader in one of those two categories will get you a huge bump (look at Stamkos) is you're still young, Canadian, and reasonably new (as either Sedin about the last two).
I'd give the edge to Hall, but it's WAY too early to tell.

seguin had nothing to do with the cup win. max talbot had more to do with his cup win in 09 with pits.
overall seguin may become better, but i am not sure. seguin has proven he can be a sniper at times, his numbers might also be inflated playing in edm alongside eberle.

They will both do well.

IIRC, Seguin was #1 in all prospect reports and mock drafts. Because of the Kessel trade, there were several reports comparing Kessel to Hall (not Seguin)
I'm leaning towards Hall as well.
Even though the Bs would have prob won the cup with only Thomas and nobody else, the fact is Seguin is a Cup winner. If the Bs win again this year, he will be 2/2 and there aren't any superstars in the NHL today that have won 2 cups in their first 2 years....and he has played a crucial part this year.

Hall is a more physical player, which lends itself to more popularity among team fans. It also lends itself to a higher injury risk.
If they both stay healthy, the sky is the limit for both, but I have to give the edge to Hall fo his physical play.

Thanks - that's what I meant.
Seguin is the top scorer on the team and also leads the NHL in +/-....when's the last time you saw a 2nd year player lead in +/-???

+/- is a meaningless stat and he has been great during the regular season at times but inconsistent.
