Exclamation Topps ends eTopps in ALL SPORTS

    http://www.beckett.com/news/2012/01/...-to-shut-down/
After a decade in existence, the eTopps program will be ending.

Collectors will still have access to their cards and will be able to continue to trade and sell, but Topps announced in a letter on the eTopps website it will no longer offer new cards — and that’s in any sport.

There has been recent unrest over eTopps with the rise in shipping prices. Now comes the cancellation of the program.

Wasn't this site originally started because of eTopps?

Personally, I find collecting "online" cards or whatever it is pointless...it is more or less for 10 year olds IMO

That's weird. I signed up for an etopps account at 7:24, a minute before you posted this.

I've been trying to get a Bailey etopps- no luck so far.

I believe these cards are basically the same as any cards you can pull out of a pack and you can have them shipped out to you. They are not simply "online" cards but rather cards that are sold by topps to people and that are then traded online until people want them shipped out in protected cases with certification. I don't think these card are just for 10 year old's by looking at the prices some of them go for on eBay. The Aaron Rodgers eTopps Rookies seem to be selling at a pretty nice price right now. If you did a quick read of the article posted above you'd see that eTopps cards are tangible items, no need to call eTopps collectors 10 year old's.

I'm still trying to add the Jonathan Stewart - 2008 eTopps RC to my collection but haven't made an account and thus couldn't bid on the ones on eBay since they are all transfers. Waiting on a in hand copy to pop-up again since I've missed the last few. Good luck finding that Andrew Bailey to your collection! The shipping prices mentioned in the article are ridiculous and are probably why I haven't seen to much eTopps in hand cards appearing on the bay except for the high dollar ones that would cover those high shipping rates from Topps.
