SP Authentic, UDS1 are usually my staples no matter what else I buy during the year.

In the past I have avoided Artifacts like the plague, because it always puts the screws to me. This year though, it's been amazing. In 3 boxes I've gotten:
    2 Base parallel dual patches /15 (M. Brodeur, T.Thomas)
1 Tundra Tandems dual patch (Toews/Kane)
    1 Rookie Auto Redemption (Zibenajad)
    1 Patch/Stick /10 (Ciccarelli)
My standard 3 rookie redemptions (RNH, Tubert, Kassian)

My Autofacts have all been junk players, but I'm not going to complain with a hit listing like that! Just remember if you choose artifacts, most of in the in-pack rookies are junk. Almost every top pick is a redemption (1/box)

My goal is getting hits in general. And a bit of collecting. I'm trying to choose the ones that look nice and is a good bang for your buck.
I could buy individual cards. Maybe later on, but cracking boxes at the moment is just too much fun

    Here's a few I'd go for:

UD Series 1, Certified, SP Authentic and Playoff Contenders (2010-11)

Also, you will almost always get your bang for your buck with O-Pee-Chee.

If they're unopened. Look for Future Watch Autographs; they're pretty much the staple rookie auto for any player collection. There should be three of them per box on average. Word of warning: do NOT buy them by the pack. Either buy individuals you want, or buy them by the box. With three autos per box at 24 packs a box, you have a 1/8 chance of drawing an auto when you are purchasing packs. Otherwise, it's pretty much all base/inserts. Key rookies with FWAs in 2010-11 SP Authentic would be Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Tyler Seguin, Jeff Skinner, P.K. Subban, Nazem Kadri, Sergei Bobrovsky, Anders Lindback etc. Best of luck!

Just checked the pricing on the black diamond set, theirs nothing much appealing about it, please tell me if im wrong. unless i buy it mostly for the ice pack.

im going tomorrow morning to quecan.

Im def going with artifacts 11-12, sp authentic 10-11

now im just thinking of what else to get as a third.
i already bought a box of certified this year...
not sure about uds1 and limited seems like a gamble...
