It's a few bad apples ruin it
I have 0 feedback on here, finding someone to do a trade with can be hard, and same with eBay
Because a few goofs scam, people won't buy, trade, or sell from anyone but the best that have thousands of feedback

Reputation means a lot, especially when you're dealing with a market where there are numerous forgeries on the top-end cards. We know for a fact that at least 1 Carey Price Cup RC has been forged, we know that a Sidney Crosby has been forged, we know 2 Drew Doughty RC's have been forged - the piece of mind that comes with knowing that you have purchased from the best is worth a small premium for those who collect these sets.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

You know it make me laught when some do not beleive some person are prepared to pay high dollars. Many said I would never be able to get a lot for my 1/1 Dryden auto, yet I did get a pretty high offer on it last spring during a show. The potential buyer is known from most seller at the show and they know when he make a offer it's not a fake offer and he did have the cash in hand. He also add like a dozen of two and three colors Carey Price The cup RC /99, just a dozen... He also drive a ferari that I saw outside...

seller definitely has something to do with it, check his completed listings and u'll see all of his Cup ARP's having a premium. a Krejci with a disgusting patch sold for $710 yesterday....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAVID-KREJCI...item20c1c7a79c
while this 3 color sold for $75 a minute earlier:

not as nice of a patch obviously, but shows what a nice patch of Krejci will usually go for. also shows that buyers know the top patch is legit because of the seller, and will pay top dollar for it.Last edited by jagrnyr68; 02-06-2012 at 06:59 PM.

I may take some flack for this, but im pretty sure this person is a shiller. I've watched and had the intention of bidding on some of his cards however when I looked into the bid history of some its pretty crazy.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140685499280...ht_1799wt_1270
I noticed of a price jump of $50 by one person, over 30 days he's made 200 bids, with 35% with this seller could be coincidence. Then if you look at the next bidder, 278 bids in 30 days with over 50% being with this seller, then the next 2 bidders after that had a combined 85 and 86% rating with this seller... This is just one card, but it looked really sketchy to me

Nope, definitely not a shiller. The seller is even a member on here and is known for opening crazy amounts of The Cup. Just crazy set collectors who, for whatever reason, would rather buy from this guy than anyone else I guess.

I completely agree with you.
People rarely see it, and it absolutely applies to life as well.
...
While many complain or struggle during this harsher economic time. Those who have the money will continue to spend. It might not be to the same extreme extent, but spending none the less is no problem for them.
The Rich don't get poor during these times. They just don't get as rich.
The less-better off; however, only gets poorer.
It's all economics.
People who have money will always be willing to be spend and will always have the money (given that they don't blow it off doing ridiculous things).
...
Relating to the hobby. What we see in our daily transactions are what the average consumers buys/sells/trade. Until something off the wall, beautiful like the some Cup stuff we see pop up from Mark, then the "real players" come out.
And in these cases the real players did come out.
A lot them don't flash what they have/own, how much they can pay... it's the mentality they have (not all people do this). I have to say, only a very small portion of these people do so. Thus you do see nice cards on the boards when people post this is my collection... the rest prefer to just hide them just like they do with their assets.Last edited by Yipper; 02-06-2012 at 08:40 PM.

Exactly.
As has been discussed at length in a few of these thread (where Cup rookies have sold for eye-popping numbers) he's got a group of buyers that are looking to buy his cards, and bid often on his cards.

Not a hater but its not that hard to do a little statistics. That and down right saying I have numerous accounts (on another thead) will make one think this as well. Some May think it is shilling or the seller could be fishing out high end buyers
. You will get rip apart on these boards for saying shilling or your post remove ,even a thread if you talk about the wrong ppl's ebay accounts. Just let the guy be and sell his cards who cares if its shilling or not. But thank you for pointing out your view.

Thanks, granted I acknowledged I may tack flack for it especially being a fairly infrequent poster but I just found it funny and I could very well be wrong just my opinion :P
