The seller had the whole swirl set up for bids one by one, they went for CRAZY money. Except for Pete Mahovlich......29 bucks..........

I remember buying the set PLUS a few doubles PLUS some hand-signed cards from Team Canada AND a few of the Russians PLUS one signed by Pierre Trudeau about seven years ago for $450 total. Thank the heavens I bought when I did eh?

Wow! Definitely worth it too considering Dryden autos, especially cards, are super rare!

You got a pretty sweet deal on that set. I would imagine there are several other players that never signed cards for anyone else in there.

Curious. You still have the Trudeau? I'm guessing that's the card where he's dropping the puck? Would love to see a pic!

Do you mean the start of the Crosby/Ovi "era"??? I always thought it was pretty much the same bunch of collectors, middle-aged guys like me who started when they were kids, the lack of rising vintage prices just because we all basically have what we want.........

That said, I think you're right. I'm seeing all the younger collectors on these boards, with their PC's of newer guys I couldn't care less about. And they don't give a toot about Dryden or Lafleur or Dionne or Bossy......I did break down and start tiny little Crosby and Ovi and Price PC's, but that was it until I bought a Cody Hodgson RCa few months ago. Other than that I collect the vintage players and a few Canucks.........

That's some kinda nice. Luc would be able to shine a bit more info on that particular card as he's a big Dryden collector (and I think he has a copy of his own too).

I was watching all of the auctions very closely. The majority of the autos went for about double what they usually do.

Normally, the Dryden fetches 200$. I think it was all the different options and combos coming together that drove the price up. Watch for a bunch of people listing their Dryden Auto BIN for 350$

That 7 year old deal is still pretty bang on I think... at least before this. Maybe we're seeing a new price for the set settling in? Time will tell for the next Dryden Auto auction.
