Wondering about the "1997 Legends Auto cards"

Buyback cards from 1997 sets?

Auto cards from the 1997 crop of Rookies? If so, the term "legends" may be a stretch. Biggest rookies from '97 include: Lecavalier, Hossa, Gagne, Richards, Elias

If the Gretzky auto is a sample of the 1997 Legends Auto set, I have to wonder why the Oilers jersey? Gretz hadn't worn that since the late 80's. I can't see why a Gretzky Oilers card would reference 1997.

I'm pretty sure it's a mistake
It says "upper deck" in the top

Every card features tge logo somewhere on the card except for the gretky

It looks like an uds2 card, I doubt they'd include a 1997 set like that in ultimate

I don't like the rookie autos based on this preview. No room to sign them.

I may be in the minority, but I think this year's Ultimate is unattractive. Too much going on, and I don't like the colors.

I have much greater appreciation for SPA with their bright and clean design.

I normally love Ultimate, but I find this set looks dated... the font, the wheat-field-looking backgrounds... just not something I would have expected from a more modern product.

I'm sure set collectors won't back away because of it, but for myself anyway, it would make me shy away from opening a box or picking up singles of one-off cards.

I agree with all of these. The product live might look different, but it's just not doing anything for me. UC is normally a modern product, but you never know what it looks like at the end of it.
