Why Panini Why???
So you put out a great looking set, Ice Kings from 11-12 Crown Royale, but only have 15/20 in the Auto set.
This really makes me completely discouraged to even attempt the auto set knowing that there will be cards missing because there are no autos for some of the players.
Jeff Skinner
Corey Perry
Cam Ward
Gabriel Landeskog
Gerry Cheevers
Are not in the Auto set.
This is the second set in 2 releases that Panini has done this. Stanley Cup Winners in 11-12 Limited is the same thing.

And both times, Perry is on the list on non-signed, which bums me out. Both autos look sweet!

If I had to bet - They didn't card the signed cards back, and decided to just pull them from the set, instead of putting out those redemption things that everyone seems to hate so much.

Agreed, but if the 2 biggest cards in your set are redemptions (RNH and Landeskog Silhouettes), having redemptions for those guys seems like no big deal. At least to me, as those 5 ice kings autos aren't what's driving the product.

I'd rather have an attainable completed set then sitting and waiting for redemptions. I'd say good on Panini for being proactive in the eyes of the collector.

I know it would've meant eliminating cards, but they should've just taken those inserts out. Why have a 20-card insert set with only 15 of them having autos?

I think you answered the question yourself :)
The Silhouettes are driving the product - so if they don't get them back on time, they have to do redemptions.
The Ice Kings? Cut down on the number of redemptions by just dropping the cards.
