Why does everyone cloud their judgement of Lebron's skill with their personal feeling towards him. The decision is over. He's still an elite player. Let's judge him fairly.

Not sure where personal feelings come into play here...I'm not a Cavs fan. I don't have a team, and I don't have a favorite player. No one said LeBron isn't elite. However, it's arguable that he's even the best player on his own team. There's no questioning that about Durant.

Sure you can argue that because Lebron and Wade in top 5 players in the L whereas Westbrook is probably in the top 15 with Durant. But that shouldn't take away from the season Lebron he is having. He's the most complete player in the league right now and has been for awhile, just a lot of haters towards him.

In my mind it shouldn't be arguable whether or not he's the best on his team, because he is. A couple years ago when the Heat won 15 games, everybody wanted to run Wade out of town. Now that Lebron and Bosh join him, he's the best on his team? No way.

It does take away, though, because he's playing with true stars or very good players at all times. The Heat roster is very good and very deep. When teams have to worry about stopping Wade, Bosh, and the other guys on the court, that opens more up for LeBron. While Westbrook is a very good player in his own right, he doesn't do the same things for Durant. He is generally a more shoot-first point guard that can (not usually, but at times) take stats away from Durant by playing that way.
Wade also won a championship without LeBron and a declining Shaq. That's something LeBron never did...and the 05/06 Heat team had a similar supporting cast to a majority of the team's LeBron played with. Said it before, will say it again: LeBron is the best athlete in the league. But not the best player.

Shaq still had a decent year, and Lebron may not be the best player, but he's better than Wade. If Wade had 3 rings and Lebron had none, I can see an argument.

Nobody is doing this. He's not even the best player on his team. He is the most TALENTED, but he isn't the best. Win a finals MVP, then i'll reconsider.
The season the Heat won only 15 games is because Wade missed just about the entire season......Hidden Content

He played in 51 games, in which they went 10-41. Not so good. 51 is over half...

You are right. I was thinking that he got hurt at a different spot of the season. That is my bad. However, he took worse teams to the playoffs in 08/09 and 09/10. Those teams basically had nobody, and had less talent than the Cavs in the same period. Wade has shown he's elite, he's shown he closes it out when it matters the most. What does LeBron do? Passes it to Eddie House....
Also, for what it's worth. When they won 15 games (they would've won more had Wade played a full season and if he was healthy), but look at the roster: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIA/2008.html
Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Jason Williams, Chris Quinn and Daequan Cook were the top 5 in games played, that is a terrible roster.Last edited by gladdyontherise; 02-24-2012 at 05:52 PM.

Lebron not only averages more points than Wade, but he also averages more assists, more rebounds, has a higher fg%, and a higher 3 pt fg%. For a guy who is terrible at shooting, Lebron is shooting 41% from 3. And yes I know Wade missed about 9 or 10 games, but Lebron is a better player. I would also argue that Lebron is a better teammate, even though he himself isn't that good of a teammate. So yes is Wade a better closer, sure, but not a better player.
