Lebron clearly makes his team better. Besides scoring nearly 28 ppg, he is also averaging 8.1 rpg and 6.7 ast per game. He has also learned to choose shots wisely. His fg % is the highest it has been his whole career. I'm not saying he will win it or he deserves it, but he will and deserves strong consideration and to be in the discussion. He is by far the MVP of that team. The only other player who can be in the discussion for that is Wade, and Wade has missed his fair share of games. Personally to be quite honest, Lebron has been better than Wade in his first 2 years in Miami.

Yes, I've said multiple times LeBron makes his teammates better. The problem is, he makes them better just as much as 2 other great players on the team.

They don't always seem to take into account who the player is playing with. Usually every team that has an MVP candidate on it has one or two other above average players on it.

I actually think they will when it's 3 players the caliber of Lebron, Wade and Bosh. You have 3 legitimate stars in their prime. Who else has that? I mean when the two sat, Bosh took over in ATL. There's really no 3-to-3 comparisons to the talent the Heat have vs any NBA team. I think that hurt his MVP chances last year.

I think Durant stated his case pretty well last night.

I disagree completely. Notice a trend of the MVP award these days. It generally goes to the guy who is the only 'superstar' on his team.

As an example, the MVP winners since 2003-04:

    2010-11 Derrick Rose Chicago
    2009-10 LeBron James Cleveland
    2008-09 LeBron James Cleveland
2007-08 Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers
    2006-07 Dirk Nowitzki Dallas
    2005-06 Steve Nash Phoenix
    2004-05 Steve Nash Phoenix
    2003-04 Kevin Garnett Minnesota

    There is a trend here.

I'm just saying it's not always the case. Lebron still finished 2nd for MVP last season.

Here is top 5 as of now.

    1. Lebron - his numbers are amazing. His PER could be the highest of all time. I feel like we take him for granted,
    2. Durant- He is leading his team to a top 3 record. His rebounds and blocks numbers are up and he has been clutch this season.
    3. Chris Paul- he has changed the culture of the clippers. His fourth quarter numbers are amazing. He knows how to close out teams and put his team in a spot to succeed.
    4. Kobe- Kobe is putting up an amazing year for a 33 year old. His team lacks depth and they are still in the thick of the playoff hunt.
    5. Dwight howard- imagine how bad the magic would be without him. He makes up for everyone's mistakes on his team on defense. He is getting around 20 and 15 a game.

Other notable players- Rose, Dirk, Love.
