My Spring Training out box

Seems we have alot of folks wondering who to send to ST posts. I am not going to say that my list is any better or worse than anyone elses. I send to some sure signers and some risks. This will be my first installment for camps going out Tuesday. The idea is catchers and pitchers report first and they take the largest portion of my first mailing. I mix some veterans in that either sign real well or that I have never gotten. Rivera is my TTM ST white whale. He signs a few every year and never picks mine. Try for a few HRs for me it was Buster Posey, Kershaw and David Price. Young prospects and players who are a few years in take a large amount of my mailings as I have not gotten most of these players yet. Add in a few sure things like Neshek and Garland. Hope this helps! I will try to update with future mailings and returns as they come in. BTW my goal is 50% back with an autograph and I usually send two items to each person and three if I have a ticket stub from a game they played in.

I have had better luck in ST than regular season. There are always some players and coaches who only respond during ST. Will Clark, Mark McGuire, Frank Robinson, Allen Trammel and Paul Molitor can all be considered great manager/coach returns in the last 5 years that I have gotten due to ST mailings! Try those guys during the season! The veteran players seem more relaxed in ST at least the ones not fighting for a roster or starting spot. Vlad for instance was a great shocking signer. Fans also may not have realized where a guy went off to and it reduces his mail early on. For instance Omar Vizquel is with a new team and in camp as a nonroster player. No big news when he signed this offseason and I would love to add him to my collection. Better mail now as he may hang it up should he not make the Big League roster! There is never a better time to be a young player than before he makes it huge! Buster Posey and David Price have signed for me in their rookie year camps. Why not get the big prospects like Mike Trout before he gets to be too big a name?

I have had some early success this spring with coaches. I am going to try them and some lesser name players also. Just trying to go after a lot of current or former Dodgers. That should keep me busy this spring.
