Yes, I have never seen those cards go for so high before. I think friends are bidding up those auctions for the seller. The guy is getting amazing prices.

Autographics was great, agreed, but there were a lot of slick non-autographed insert sets in the mid and late '90s as well. A few great ones have already been mentioned, but to add -

1997-98 Ultra Star Power Supreme (see-through gold - stunning design): http://i44.tinypic.com/108eds0.jpg

1997-98 E-X2001 Gravity Denied (keychain design with cool cut): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anfernee-Pen...item3a70f6cbc2

    Cheers for the suggestions guys.

Yeah, got into cards during this period as a kid so this is just me getting in touch with the good ol times and reminiscing. Bit of a trip down memory lane for me. Did not have money back then to buy the good stuff but now that I do let the shopping spree begin :D

And huuuuuuuuge thankx on the playmakers set. Would've saved me hundreds. When you say embossed, does it mean that it is shiny.

    Any other suggestions.

The copyright logo at the bottom is reversed between the two cards. And they do not have a serial print run. Where would this print run stamping appear on the card.

Check out the Grant Hill above. See how the card has indentions on the back? The picture on the front is raised up, so it's not a flat piece of cardboard. That's what the embossed is. There's apparently a version out there where the card is just flat. Also note the serial number in the middle on the back, the fakes will have no serial.

    Cheers for the suggestions guys.

thanks penny1fan. I see that yours is shiny. So when scanned or photo'd the shiny gold bits should show through.
