SCF Baseball Card Traders April 2012 trading thread
Basic rules:
1. Each trader will send a minimum of 10 cards. Duplicates do not count toward that 10 card minimum.
2. Trades must be posted, confirmed, & completed by the end of the month. If one partner fails to send during the alloted time, he/she will be given a 30 day grace period to complete the trade. Failure to complete the deal after that will result in being cut from the group.
3. General rules, such as MSF for newer SCF members, apply.

Hmmmm
Hey, I hate to be "that guy" (I.e. the new one) but I was so gung ho about finally having a trading post I realize I have not idea what exactly I've gotten myself into in terms of regulations and such. I've gathered that I represent the Astros and will thus be sent Astros cards & in return am to send cards for whatever team my trading partner represents (10 card min.), but is it just a blind exchange or is the trade usually discussed in terms of particular cards between members before the trade is confirmed?....also, what sorts of cards are typically traded around here (low end, high end, base, insert, auto, mem, etc....)
Any input is greatly appreciated....also if there's an FAQ for the thread and i just completely flubbed here I apologize for this post and a simple "see (insert link here)" would be awesome....will submit to public flogging at a later date for my indiscretions.
Very excited to be on board and can't wait to actually get trading! Go Astros I guess LOL

I will take a shot at this...
First things first, I just post the trade as a MLB Trading Group - "Team Name Here" Lot in both windows in the Manager. Next, as a Rookie, you would be required to send your lot first. Then you would get a lot back after it is received on the other end. The group requires you send a minimum of 10 different cards (dupes do not count towards minimum) of the team you are trading with. And that is all you are guaranteed to get back. I can say most send more than that. I get some very good lots out of here. Some are more older stuff, some are all new stuff. The cards I send are mostly from 2000 on, but I have some older mixed in there. I like to send a low end GU if I have one, but I don't have them for all teams. So, I can't always send one. But, I like to send more than the min 10 cards. Again, mixed stuff. Base mostly with some inserts. I have a lot of stuff I like to dole out to people. So, no biggie. But be forewarned, if you always send only 10 cards, then the likelihood you will get similar stuff back will be greater as time goes on. But, remember, this is mostly a lower end trading group, and you aren't going to get a 1/1 auto out of here, and nor are you required to send one. I hope that will help.
This group is a lot of fun, and you can really get a lot of cards of your team here to help increase your personal collection!
