Difference on these 05-06 UD Rookie Showcase
I have an 05-06 UD Rookie Showcase Henrik Lundqvist #RS20. Now I think it is the (insert popular card lookup service) Promo version. But I want to be sure.
Does anyone know if the regular version was hard #'d to 1000 on the card? Because the promo version is out of 21,000. It is actually a difference of $15 in value so don't want to mess around and give something away for less.

I can't remember the difference in those cards (how to spot it) but I'm sure someone on here could.
I know the distribution difference was that UD was giving some away via a NPN contest on their website, and the others were given away with copies of Beckett.
The UD give away ones are worth more.... hopefully someone else can chime in and explain how to tell the difference. I have a feeling it has something to do with the colour of the border... but can't say for sure.

Putting my awful memory to the test but I'm fairly certain that the ones that came straight from UD had a darker gold background and border. The ones from Beckett were a lighter shade of gold. Someone please correct me if this isn't accurate.

or I could them backwards...hope this helps though!

I remember that the UD version had the darker gold bolder.

Yes that was what I thought after I looked on Beckett to see photos, but sometimes on there people scan the wrong image in. They both looked the same to me like someone tried to pass off the same image for 2 different cards.

UD version on the left, Beckett version on the right:

I'd say the Beckett versions are harder to come by.

That's odd that they are priced differently then. I'm sure mine is the Beckett one as I used to get the magazine and I think you sent for a card or it was in the magazine or something.

Well, that's just a hunch as it was clearly harder for me to find the Beckett version of the card I needed. Still I'd price them quite the same. Wouldn't be the first time Beckett prices were out of this world IMO.
And yes, the Beckett versions were included in the magazine. The UD ones are not serial numbered either.

I love when stuff isn't serial #'d or there is different variations and you can't tell due to that. It would help sometimes. With this card the one I have is a difference of $15! I'll just figure I have the Beckett one as I didn't buy any boxes or packs in 05-06 so it has to be out of the mag.

If I remember correctly, to get the UD version you just had to order it from UD website for free, first come first serve basis. There was some limitations, at least one/player but maybe even more. Can't remember..
