    2011 Ginter Break

Ok, not a popular break but I finally got around to picking up a box of it. One year later, here is my review: First of all, I like the Ginter product for the most part but now that it's 5 years in I think it needs a face lift. The base cards are not super attractive and there seems to be more than usual of the "weiner" cards. I think the highlight sketches are tired and the 1:1 Hometown Heroes is weak as well. I really hate the Ascent of Man cards as well. The other sub-sets are ok except I think they could have done without Step Right Up and Portraits of Penultimacy. I would swap all of that stuff out for more mini's. Here is the break highlights:

    Reg Mini's: 136 Vitale, 144 Posada, 209 Fieri, 283 Barton, 291 Sizemore, 331 Gomez, 349 Martin
    Black Mini's: 111 Sandoval, 224 Kubel
    Quaker Mini's: 127 Loney, 208 Scutaro, 227 Duda, 243 Mickeas
    Bazooka Mini: Pedro Ciriaco #18/25
Ginter Code Parallels: Ellsbury, Hafner, Cabrera
    The Hits:
    Alex Rodriguez (Jersey)
    Jack Lalanne (Mini-Film)
    Brent Morel (Autograph)

And of course, getting Rasputin is pretty cool.

Was this a hobby or a blaster?

Also, I could use the Rasputin.

Yeah, I thought it was a hobby, but didn't know what the film was. I thought maybe he got two blasters or something.

Not looking to trade the Rasputin today (I actually did a paper on him in college, he is very interesting!) Who knows what tomorrow will bring though?

It looks like it's worth only a buck on Ebay so perhaps you could scoop one up cheap. I personally wouldn't let it go for that cheap given the fact the I like the card.

A-Rod Jersey and a Lalane film piece? Great hits.

Also, don't let the hater's hate on this "unpopular" break. Ginter is and will always be king.

I really like the look of the 2012 cards. I just hope they aren't barf pink like 2012 Gypsy Queen.
