    First Customs, Feedback Appreciated!

So I thought I would try making some customs in powerpoint because I've gotten a little bored with just doing google photos. I made this custom of Vinnie Catricala. Do you guys think it's any good? Wanted some opinions before printing. I had trouble posting it here so I posted it on my blog. Here's the link. Sorry for the trouble!

If you like it is all that really matters. You are the one that will have to live with them in your collection. When I make a custom I make them what I want to look at not what others want to see. I have never messed with PowerPoint so I have no idea what it can do, but if you want to try customs you should look into GIMP it is a lot like Photoshop but it is free.
With that said I like the look of the Catricala, good job.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely look into GIMP. Can't afford photoshop at this time since I'm going to a private college but hope to get it someday

Bingo! There are a lot of people who want to try making customs but never take that first step. Kudos for giving it a shot.

I think that the customs we create are partially limited to the type of program we are using. I too have never used Powerpoint, but if it gives you only 'X' amount of options...then pursue those options. What can the program do for you and your customs.

I like the idea of trying GIMP. I've never tried it, but know many others who have. I would also take a look at card designs in general. Take inspiration from them and critically look at them. What can you pull from that and what can inspire your own creations.

We all aren't going to produce the high-end designs like the pros, but we can sure have fun building our own creations.

    That's what it's all about.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks! I downloaded GIMP last night and I'm completely lost. Will have to look at their user manual online once I have time after finals are done next week. That will definitely be 1 of my summer projects since I'll be back home in Iowa and won't have as many IP chances

i use powerpoint myself...i am not comfortable with gimp or photoshop. when i make logos i use inkscape which is the free version of adobe illustrator. my advise to you is play around with powerpoint and learn the features. powerpoint does have some cool effects you can use just like photoshop does. keep designing your customs and i hope your collection grows.

Thanks...I've got some good ideas in my head for customs to make on GIMP but I'm definitely struggling to figure the program out.

you can start your design in powerpoint then save it in a png or jpeg then work on it some more with gimp.
