Gorilla, are you saying that anyone who isn't vehemently against abortion is for it? Because, I am personally against abortion, but I don't see it being an issue the government should decide for us, because I don't consider a fetus any more a person than I consider a seed to be a flower. Obviously, we disagree on this issue, but it does NOT mean I am "for" abortion. In reality, being "for abortion" would mean I want abortions for everyone all the time. I do not want that. I am pro choice in that I believe it's an issue of personal moral and not one of law.

So by my definition I am in now way for abortion. By your definition am I? I ask because if your definition of for abortion includes people like me, then there's no point in talking.

Racism is not good, but making fun of somone's dubbed in voice in a movie does not make you a racist. That whole movie kung Po enter the fist comedy was making fun of English voices dubbed in asian movies. Iuse to see peopel make fun of voices dubbed in Godzilla movies all the time.

You really are not so limited that you do not see that a seed and fetus are not alike at all. A seed is like sperm in a condom. A sprouted germinated plant is like a fetus. And you think the sprout is not a living plant?

To answer your rape queston based on the bible. A rapist is suppose to be killed, but God made it clear if a man repented he wanted their lives to be spared. Even if you repent you still need to be punished for the crime you did. So it would only be fair to make the man work some how to pay for the child and compinsate the woman he violated. I have seen prisons with work release programs where ther man goes out and works then come back to jail for the night.

Science shows it is a living breathing child, "secular science" calls it a "fetus".

Big Bang - Big Bang is a theory about the creation of the universe. It has nothing to do with sterilization. Sterilization is something LEARNED through advances in science. FWIW, human beings TELL me things, not imaginary deities.

Rape & The Bible - I would expect nothing less from a book written by chauvinistic men in a time when women were nothing more than property. Fortunately society has progressed and women are now actual people with rights and considerations.

Secular science - nice term, I am sure it comes in useful in debates about religion. Hate to break it to you though. Science is science. Throwing secular in front of it to try and diminish it does not work with intelligent people.

Most importantly, as far as what the bible says about an unborn baby, fetus or otherwise, that really has zero bearing on what United States law should say. A religious text has no business governing laws in a country where we are free to believe as we wish.

I actually agree that the bible or any other religious text should not be the basis of our laws. If someone needs a religious book to stop them from murdering someone (born or unborn) because they do not have enough common sense on their own to know it is wrong then they have a lot of serious issues.
