Another FAKE patch, who to blame
This pops up today on ebay.

The original was all white. Even the breaks on the top portion is nothing like any of the CUP triple colors.
So who do we blame ? The scam artists ? Upper Deck for having all white patches which are just asking to be changed ? Or the industry for crazy bidding wars on "unique" patches of jerseys which were worn once in a photo shoot ?

Guy emailed me, so I sent him the images of nine of the 15 copies I scanned including the 04/15. Guess someone scammed him so he's going back to the first seller.

This really grinds my gears (a la Family guy). As if this card wern't rare enough, it might as well be n umbered to /14. I mean cmon guys, what happened to keeping the integrity of the hobby. I guess to the original guy who faked it, it seemed worth the extra couple of bucks, but to the rest of the people who seek out these cards, its a shot to the heart.

Yah... I can't blame UD here. Same way I can't blame the rape victim who was "asking for it".
All blame here rests on the patch faker who mutilated the card.
Glad to see that the listing was removed.

Definitely all on the scam artists. I don't love boring patches either, but they can't all be amazing, otherwise those would all be ho-hum eventually too. Makes pulling a really nice patch that much better.

you blame the seller until he can prove he picked it up from a scammer
AND he did not know the tool was a scammer,
more often then not, these guys ARE the scammer who opened other accounts
ebay is cracking down on them, so they open multiple accounts IF they can
remember, scammers are criminals they lie
please contact the card companies too with your story
we need to speak up! tell them we are sick of scammers
send them the links to all the fake cards, in their brand, etc...
