Sluggo, did the COA sticker serial number on the card, match the number on the actual COA?

Yes indeedy. BUT there was a flaw, a fold line, in the sticker on the back of the card, which could have meant it had been peeled and re-stuck. Or I'm just full of hot air????

Two questions:
1 - Is the Beckett grading limited to the auto card only? Or do they include the COA card as part of the grade?
2 - You say this was probably TTM, but I thought I heard Gretzky would not sign cards TTM? Instead he would send a promotional picture or something like that.Hidden Content

1 - The grading is for the auto'd card, not the COA. BUT the graded card is labelled as a "2004-05 SP Authentics Buyback Wayne Gretzky 1990/91 Upper Deck" card, so it's once-and-for-all related to that "COA"
2 - I dunno. I met him once in 1982. He cursed at my brother. My brother had it comin' tho............. :D

Yes, they do:

If its a UDA (that's Upper deck Authentication who sold sports memorabilia via the shopping network, not Upper deck, the hockey cards you get from pack pulled stuff), I think you can try here:
http://sports.upperdeck.com/memorabi...am_lookup.aspx
you can try it there anyways even if its not UDA, but when I tried it before, I got bumpbkis.
I've also herd that you can also call them. Ask them to verify a hologram number from a COA you have.

Those 802 gold ink autos were originally issued by Scoreboard back in the 90's (yes, signed on UD cards). My guess is the by adding the UD COA and hologram stickers from some other random UD buyback the seller thought he could increase the value of the card compared to what the Scoreboard stuff sells for (generally available for $50 or less) due to their dubious past.

Well sir, it's like this..................
Back in 1982, Wayne Gretzky did an appearance at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond BC sponsored by GWG Jeans. Me and my 11 year-old brother stood in the line-up for about 90 minutes, I hadn't brought anything to sign but the GWG people had 5X7 black&whites for us. Gretzky ALSO had a huge stack of them, which he was signing furiously in order to get ahead of the game ya know? So we walked up to him and he handed me a pic he'd already signed and tried to do the same with my brother. Butttttt the boy, being 11 and all, kept pushing the pic that he'd been handed at Gretzky.......
Gretzky: "Take this one kid"
Adam: ...........................waving his photo in Gretzky's face
Gretzky: "Take THIS one kid"
Adam: ...........................waving his photo in Gretzky's face
Gretzky: "WOULD YOU JUST BLEEPING TAKE THIS ONE???" Not loud, but you know that tone that your dad took with you or you take with your kids when you've reached the tipping point?
Adam: takes the photo
Annnnnnnd we left.
