    07-08 O-Pee-Chee question

Hey everybody, some of you here might know this by all the 07-08 OPC pack break threads I've put up, I'm addicted to buying this product. That being said, the packs I buy are retail ones from Toys R Us. So my question is, in the retail version of 07-08 OPC, are there the Silver cards and Micromotion blacks /100? I've seen them in hobby, but never in retail. I just want to know more about the packs that I'll be buying for the next while. If anyone knows please comment. Thanks!

    Eddie

They are retail but you can still hit the parallels. I did a few of those back in the day in Halifax and I pulled a couple Micros but never a Black. They're tough at retail level I believe. I did, however, pull a non-auto'd, otherwise totally indistinguishable Jon Casey RC buyback once.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Thanks Richard! So basically you can still hit everything that is in hobby, except the odds are harder?

If memory serves, yes. With lower end products like OPC they still distribute the hits but at tougher ratios. Only once you get to UD1/2 and higher do certain things get reserved for hobby-only boxes.

I know you can't get the /100 in the 2008/09 OPC. I thought those were hobby exclusives then as well? I know the /100 and blank backs lately are hobby only.

I really am not sure that the Micromotion Black were available in Retail Boxes or in Blaster Boxes, I know the Micromotion were, but I didn't think that the Black were.

I myself have pulled a few regular Micromotions as well so I do know those are in there. I never bought a hobby pack of 07-08 OPC because that stuff is long gone at the LCS so I can't compare the ratios at the back of retail and hobby packs but if anyone kept their 07-08 OPC hobby packs, does it mention anything about the black cards ratios? At the back of the retail one, it doesn't say anything about the black, unless I'm blind. But I did now find out that the Silver parallels are available in retail, and are 1:14

If the blacks are /100, then I doubt they are in there. From my memory they didn't put those in there. I know from 2008/09 and on they had every parallel except /100 and blank backs. I was assume that was the same in 2007/08.

Thanks for the info! I guess there is still a lot of cool stuff to be pulled from 07-08 OPC even if it's retail. A Silver Rookie would be cool, I'm guessing those are 1:14 as well.

The Silvers were in both retail/hobby boxes... the Black's #/100 were hobby only. Everything else was available in retail, but with at a much lower odds of pulling them.

I was building this out after my daughter was born, but I didn't finish it. Here is an article on some of the numbers you'd need to pull if you wanted to build a master set.
