Max is gotta be one of the most durable players on the Habs. A few months before the Chara incident, there were nights that I was surprised he was still in the lineup.

Max is only 23 years old with tonnes of skill and even more upside. I have no problem with this contract. I have a problem with a huge contract for PK Subban. He hasn't earned a massive deal yet. I'd be at 2 year at $4 million per year. Then if he proves himself give him the big deal.

I have to agree on the aspect that Subban has not shown that he is a complete top-caliber yet due to the bad turnovers I have seen last season.
As I last recall, Bergevin offered him a 2-year deal for 2.75M each season and he has not accepted it yet. I just a have a feeling, it will go to arbitration.Last edited by xelloss1012; 08-22-2012 at 01:18 PM. Reason: addendum

I disagree with both of you (last two posts)
The Habs have played him top minutes on the team in all situations, and top 10 minutes in the NHL and ridden him hard for more than a full season, all while PK has been learning the game at this level. Now at contract time they are trying to tell him he isn't important enough to earn the big bucks.... just the big minutes in big situations.
He saved this teams butt when Markov went down and took all the extra time when it wasn't what he needed at the time.
Now, by saying this I'm not saying he deserves $6M per season, but $2.75 is insulting for what he has done for them.
This is no different than what the owners are doing for the upcoming lockout. Thanks for increasing our business in each year exponentially since we last locked you out, but you need to take a paycut for us now.
Edit: I'm sure Hall's contract in Edmonton is justified though right? 53 points = $6MLast edited by Habitforming; 08-22-2012 at 02:58 PM.
