WHL Discussion
Since there's no NHL, gonna have to focus on the juniors.
Took in the Kelowna Rockets home opener last night against the Kamloops Blazers. Only bright spots for Kelowna were the goaltender Jordon Cooke, who protected the crease well and Zach Franko who scored a really nice goal and was overall the best player on the team. Overall though, they looked sluggish, distracted and like they'd never met each other. Kamloops outworked them and outplayed them. 3-2 Kamloops final. Kelowna falls to 0-1-1 after 2 losses to the Blazers, who are currently 2-0

I will have to get into Portland for more than my obligatory 2-3 games per season. I am going to try to watch all WHL Eastern Conference visits, especially the Warriors, Wheaties, and Pats.

The Giants lost back to back games against Victoria. Can't see the games but from what I've heard it's pretty much a brand new team. Hay will make 'em winners again!

Yeah, Huska is working with 10 new kids on the Rockets. There was a good amount of individual talent that could mesh well. The defense makes me want Habscheid back behind the bench.

I think Jackson Houck of the Giants is going to turn into a Lucic-esque player though, he looked impressive from the highlights I just saw, and Cain Franson, Cody's younger brother, looks like he finally found his hands, also, Kulak looks to be like our best dman. Just as I thought last year :)

Last night took the two boys to the Broncos home opener in Swift, Beat Moose Jaw 7-1, I like the Warriors and the boys like the Broncos, And the whole way home they let me know who won lmao, At least my boy Morgan Rielly sniped to break the shutout, Adam Lowry looked real good for the Broncos with a 3 goal effort, Coda Gordon looked below average even though he did get a goal. SC domniated the whole game IMHO.
Great Thread

Warriors need to change their name back to Canucks, like the old days. Warriors and the team Logo is a bit ethno-slurish.

The logo, maybe. Although, it's not all that different from the Mohawk gas station logo. Warriors I don't think falls into that category (like Braves, Chiefs, etc). My local BCHL team is called the West Kelowna Warriors and they have a Roman type guy as their logo.

I think they have had Logo problems in the past with the organization. There was some conflict with the original one when then moved from Wpg.

Well I made the trip down the I5 for the Silvertips home opener against the PG Cougars. Was a blowout with the Cougars wining 6-0. Was great to see Ryan Murray back in the lineup but overall the game was a bit sloppy. Which is to be expected for the first little bit of the season. Not sure what kind of team the Silvertips will have this year yet? I am really wanting to see a Winter Hawks game and check out Seth Jones!
