Saying the states should have to power to ban contraception is not the same thing as saying that he wants to ban contraception. You need to develop your reading comprehension skills.

really? I mean... really? So when Ron Paul said he thought restaurants should be allowed to ban people based on race.. it's just because he's so pro freedom too right? lol

Really. You need to develop your reading comprehension skills. While it is off-topic, Paul's position is more libertarian. He would allow the marketplace to regulate discrimination, not the government.

no one with a shred of sanity believes if you would let a state ban contraception... you aren't holding that position yourself as well. You can keep trying to spin it all you want.. but Santorum is the most right wing extremist there is.

I am not spinning anything. You are reading what you want to believe into Santorum's words.

"I believe a state should be allowed to ban contraception".... seems pretty black and white to me lol

The reason I brought up ron paul was he holds that position because he's a known racist (unless you believe he really didn't write those news letters too? lol)... santorum wants to ban contraception in the same way.

Just another example.. if a state wanted to fund abortions with state money or wanted to create a state run union or health care program.. I don't think his "states rights views" would extend to those.

As a Hispanic whose ancestors came over legally I can say the GOP is anti illegal immigration, and in turn pro legal immigration. You would not believe how angry my grandparents get when they see new bills rewarding illegals with special privileges, it takes away the incentive to come over legally.

Most Hispanics actually believe similar to the GOP's platform, but have such a history with the democratic party they vote for them naturally.

I don't believe in gay marriage or that people should be able to recreationally smoke weed legally, but I do believe it should be up to the states to vote on these issues.

You're probably talking about the Conservative social issues side of that platform, correct?

If so, they probably do agree with that because the MAJORITY of Hispanics are religious and are Pro-Life and anti-gay marriage.

HOWEVER....the reason for them voting democratic in high numbers is very simple.....The GOP is so anti-ILLEGAL immigration that it sometimes overflows into being anti-immigration period!

There are people like Joe Arpaio who are straight up RACIST against the Latino community and the "Arizona Law" is not just anti-illegal immigration, it's Anit-Hispanic!

75% of a community that votes for Obama (who did in fact deport MANY illegals) is a very telling number.....the GOP have LOST the Hispanic vote and if they continue the way they are (Rejecting the Dream Act, passing laws similar to the "Arizona law" and making life very hard on illegals) it's only going to get WORST for them.

The Latin vote WON it for Obama, I truly believe that.....and as a Hispanic-American myself, I am happy very about that.
