Just like doctors are held to higher standards and lawyers. Some professions are hel to a higher standard.Just asking is it only white cops that abuse authority? And i am not trying to start a fire it is a s imple question as I try to understand your view. I understand a black person or a foreiner cannot help being who they are.But is it only white cops who abuse their badge? You are correct when you say training is key.And law enforcement is trained better now in social awareness and people

Skin colour has nothing to do with whether a cop will abuse the badge. Not sure what I said to put that into question.

That is your point and it is a good one.But the fact is that the weapons will still be attainable. Not as easy but they will be attainable.

    I don't know.....but that's not the point.

The point is that regular citizens should NOT be able to have military weapons capable of killing a lot of people in such an efficient and easy manner.

If Adam Lanza's mom did not have that rifle, more than likely the death count would not have been so high.

Why do you need a military weapon anyways?

Wrong, he had hand guns that would have done the exact same thing.

If guns are the problem, do you think we should disarm the government and police?

    Really?

You think hand guns would've killed the same amount in the same time frame....really?

    Well, the answer is no.

Why shouldn't regular citizens be held to a disadvantage...to the criminals or the police?

It's pure specualtion that there would be less of a death count had Lanza' mother not owned the gun. I understand the reasoning though.

And why do I need a military weapon? I don't. It's that simple. But I don't feel that disarming a popluation is the correct process here.

Just trying to understand your view.Maybe I misunderstood it.

Well in the example of four cops tazering a man to death, one of them was black. For the record, I am white.
My view at its most basic is that there are problems with most police and all the problems are at the top.

With 2 handguns and the amount of time he was there he could have done the same thing.Yes with the assault rifle it made it easier for this piece of garbage to kill innocent kids. But the bottom line is he would still kill with the 2 handguns he had.

    Really?

What do you mean by efficient?

^These are the weapons used by Adam Lanza.

Gee....I wonder which weapon is more efficient?

I get called a cop hater a lot. The fact is I think the training most officeres go through is weak and probably outdated. The jobs of those higher on the chain depend on things staying as they are, or the poor training will be outed and jobs will be lost due to neglect and/or ineptitude. I truly feel sorry for most officers because it isn't their fault, but the uniform associates them.

I do too. Now not all cops are bad but the good ones do a poor job in checking the bad ones. Many of them live by the blue wall of silence which is the equivalent of the stop snitchin code used by criminials on the street. If law abiding citizens were to relinquish their firearms then we would be at the mercy of our corrupt gov't, street criminals, conservatives and terrorists. You can have my gun when you pry it from my it from my cold dead hands.

In society and business most problems stem from the top.Police, doctors,Mcdonalds,Wal Mart if there is a major problem is usually stems from the top.But i do understand your view thank you
