Found my notes for one of the NBA games we attended earlier this year:
Friday Feb 8 2013
NO Hornets v Atlanta Hawks:
Our main objecxtive hereis to get AD and Austin Rivers on a Slam High School photo of the two of them with Quincy Miller, MKG, Marquis Teague and Brad Beal. We have the other 4 all in Silver against a black back drop.
We missed Austin, he signed before we could get down there, AArgh.
Team Sheet;
Greivas Vasques
Ryan Anderson
Randy Ayers
Eric Gordon
and I believe Roger Mason, but my memory fades and my handwriting sucks.
On cards:
Gordon 1/4- 12/13 Hoops
Vasquis 3/3- 12-13 Threads X2
12-13 Hoops
Ryan Anderson 5/5- 12-13 Prizm
12-13 Prestige
12-13 Threads x2
12-13 Hoops
Finally- AD- Grabs a BLUE SHARPIE and starts scribbling on some peoples pictures, Sam panics and decides to go for it, He got an indescript A and a shape and in Blue. I went to the other side of the rail and got him in Silver, but it is really not very legible, kind of Vince carter like. But we got him, some day we will get Austin and complete a nice couple of 8X10's. Here is the one I got:
I havea Minnessota T wolves and NJ nets I am trying to dig up too.Last edited by samsdad; 04-22-2013 at 10:14 PM.

Nationals at Braves
Turner Field
Batting Practice:
Got there 5-10 minutes later than usual and sure enough missed the big fish. Bryce signed alot from what we heard. Sloppily for one adult, personalized for another and nice for kids.
We got:
Dennard Spann: 3/7 he promised to come out and sign after warmups and he did. Saw Sam's seven card and said "I can only sign three of these." Sam said "no problem, just pick the ones you would like to sign. He picked the '13 Topps, '11 Topps and '09 Topps.
Ian desmond 1/1- '13 Topps Always a good signer after warmups here in Atlanta. Nice guy.
Danny espinosa 2/4 '13 topps and???? He hung around and signed a bit.
Saw but missed :
Werth signed a ball or two tossed to him
Davey Johnson
Anthony rendon was taking balls signing them and flipping them back. We didn't feel he was worth a ball yet. We have an 8X10 we will bring Wednesday the next time we can get there.
Chipper Jones was there signing between innings as we saw on TV but as it was a school night we left at first pitch. We might stay a bit tomorrow, weather might be a factor.Last edited by samsdad; 05-02-2013 at 02:35 PM.

Nationals at Braves
Turner Field
Batting Practice:( onfield)
Braves:
Gerald Laird ( 3/3) '09 Toppsx2, '11 Topps. Would have signed more if we had more
Chris Johnson (2/?)- '10 Topps Rookie card and '11 Topps I missed this whole transaction and this is from Sam's memory this A.M.
Kris Medlen ( 2/4)- '13 Heritage, '12 Topps
Evan Gattis (1/1)- 8x11 for a friend
Dale Murphy- (1/1)- 8x11
Julio Tehran- (1/1)- 8x11 signed j.tehran- forgot his cards but a friend gave him the picture
Nats-
Davey Johnson- (1/1)- Started a team ball with a GU ball that someone tossed him, got Johnson on the sweet spot
Adam Laroche- (2/9)- '07? UD , and the team ball
Tyler Moore-(1/1)- Team Ball
And then...Bryce Harper (1/1)- ROMLB I believe Sam asked him to sweet spot, but I am not sure and he side paneled it. Not sure why Oh well, he got him. Our adult sized friend next to him did not get him at all, his girl friend got him on a jersy no problem and another friend got a BH. Not sure what to advise people on Harper this year, photos seem to be popular and work. Haven't tried cards yet.
Jayson Werth-( 0/8) skipped right over Sam twice. Signed plenty just not for Sam.
After the on field BP there was still an hour-
Ian Desmond (1/1)- Team Ball, still asks to me as one of the nicest guys around.
Anthony Rendon (1/1, 1/1) - Sam got him on an 8X11 we printed after we saw him signing so much on Monday, and I got him on the Team Ball
Gio Gonzalez ( 1/1)- '13 Topps another good signer on a team of good signers when they are here, he wouldnt sign Monday but after pitching yesterday ( and that that great0 he still signs for everyone today as he promised he would after shagging.
Stephan Strasburg ( 1/2)- '12 Topps All star card, he asked Sam which one would he like signed, Sam wanted to say both but said either one I like them both. Strasburg is a great signer here. We have gotten him MANY times ( 8? 10?) He seemed to be picking kids to sign for mostly yesterday. He abruptly stopped at one point and left so I missed but Sam was pleased.
All in all a great day that could have even been better. We might try the Mets Friday, not sure yet.Last edited by samsdad; 05-02-2013 at 02:36 PM.

NY Mets at Braves
Turner Field
We have done very few Mets games and with so few names we were chasing Wright and Harvey and anything else would be extra.
Got there in time for BP to day but missed Don Sutton by a few....Ugh
Mets side BP-
Matt Harvey( 1/1, 1/1, 1/1)- '12 Topps Update, '12 Topps Minors ( Not heritage, not sure what the card is) ROMLB.
He promised he would come back and sign after throwing and true to his word....We each got one and a kid got another card for Sam in exchange for Sam getting him someone else earlier ( i was no there so I don't know who)
David Wright ( 0/1)- He went to the otehr side and signed like a fiend, I think Sam could have made it but, oh well...
Sam signing but missed or had nothing for him:
Terry Collins
Ike Davis
Jacob Turner
Mike Baxter
I am sure I am missing a few others. We have bad weather called for tomorrow, not sure if we will make to any other games this homestand.Last edited by samsdad; 05-06-2013 at 03:02 PM. Reason: grammar

Sunday May 6, 2013
NY Mets at Braves
Turner Field
Batting practice Met's side
Short story this edition. Only got
Bob Geren (1/1) - '09 Topps- Sam says he only signed "bob". Kinda funny.
Seen signing but missed or had nothing for:
Bobby Parnell
Juan Lagares
Juerys Familia
Mike Baxter
Anthony Recker
Thats it. No Wright, no Harvey, Beautiful day despite the forecast of rain, so no reason not to come out and sign unless they did not want too. Oh well
We had to leave early as Sam's sister had a piano recital, which was too bad because we got upgraded to some unbelieveable seats. (We stayed longer than we planned once we got upgraded, but still left in the 6th) After the game some friends hung around since TBS was doing the game and got John Smoltz. He did one per and did everyone waiting ( less than 10 people). A very good get as he is not around like Glavine or Murphy ( or Chipper). Too bad for us but the recital was nice.Last edited by samsdad; 05-18-2013 at 11:06 AM. Reason: spelling

Pawtucket at Gwinnett
Coolray Stadium
Boston Strong event
We are attending more games here this year as the Gwinnett Braves have 5 Bobblehead nights and there is a steady stream of stars coming through such as Profar, Billy Hamilton and thier own Sean Gilmartin, but tonight was not for graphing Minor League players. The Braves brought in Dee Brown, Jason Varitek, Rodney Harrison and Matt Ryan to throw out the first pitch for the Boston Strong event. ( All played professionally in Boston except Ryan who played at Boston College)
There were thoughts that the players would not sign as there was to be a silent auction that featured signed items as well. But fret not in a small window of time all 4 signed at some point or another:
Dee Brown (1/1) -8X11- Marker was not smooth. Oh well,we got him
Rodney Harrison (1/1, 0/1) 8X11- Got him once missed him the second time he signed
Jason Varitek (1/1,1/1)- '09? Topps, Rawlings Gold Glove ball ( signed under the Gold glove logo)
Matt Ryan- ( 0/1)- Missed him got there too late. He signed upon arrival in the parking lot and a bit on field. Sigh.
Seen signing on fireld but missed or had nothing for them;
Sean GilMartin
Tyler Pastornicky
Paul Janish
Marty Reed
Got a week off from Graphing now. Gotta get all our cards sorted for the rest of the season. Maybe post an NBA season wrap up too.

LA Dodgers at Braves
Turner Field
We had a debate whether to attend a live Radio Show with Chipper or do the outside of Turner Field for the Dodgers and hopefully Donnie Baseball. Since we got Chipper last year, and the Dodgers only come once a year and we cannot go Saturday we went for the Dodgers.
Pregame outside of Turner Field:
Javy Guerra- (1/1) 2012 Topps
Kenley Jensen- (2/2)- '10 Topps, '13 Topps
That's all we got so this was a BAD CALL as Chipper signed at the taping. Oh well.
Inside Batting Practice:
Dee Gordon (1/1)- '13 Topps
Adrian Gonzalez (1/6)- '09 Topps All Star Card in Ball Point not the greatest, Gold Glove Ball but not under the logo so we will make it a multiple player ball
Andre Eithier, (2/4)- '13 Topps, '09 Topps
Brandon League- '13 Topps
Clayton Kershaw (1/1)- 8X11 Personalized to Sam
Don Mattingly- Gold Glove Ball
Ramiro Pena- '09 Topps
Gerald Laird- '12 Topps
Brian McCann- '08 Upper Deck in Black
Dan Uggla- '12 Topps All Star
Also seen signing but missed or had nothing for:
Ryan Klesko
Dale Murphy
Ted Lilly
Skip Schumaker
Mke Magill
And then after batting practice but before the first pitch: Matt Kemp- Gold Glove Ball. Mob scene as always but he is a great pregame signer and got to as many people as he could.
All in all a monster set of results and we could not have asked for more. As I said we are skipped tonight as we have a Rec league game and then we are heading to Gwinnett for a Bobblehead night and hopefully Billy Hamilton. We are planning head out to the Ted tomorrow for one more run at the Dodgers

Sunday May 19, 2013
LA Dodgers at Braves
Turner Field
Well the rains came and killed our schedule for Saturday, we missed Billy Hamilton and the Freddie Freeman Bobblehead at Gwinnett on Saturday due to Sam's Little League game getting delayed by rain. AND then we hear at the Braves Game the following Dodges signed:
Carl Crawford
Josh Beckett
Hanley Ramierez
Adam Ellis
Dee Gordon
Andre Eithier
Clayton Kershaw
Scott Schumaker
missed that too but thought I should report it.
We were all set to go to the Ted for player's arrival when the rains came again at 7:30 am so we waited it out at home as graphing in the rain sucks for cards. When we got there, around 9 we were told that Zach Grienke arrived at 7:30 or so and signed, as did Mark McGwire, who would only sign flats no balls. We tend to get there around 8 so we would have missed them anyway, but wow.
The only others that signed outside were:
Kenley Jansen
Javy Guerra
but we were good having gotten them earlier in the series.
Inside, it started raining again, we saw Kimbrell Signing on the other side but we had something else to do...
Sam had a meeting for the Asian American Society. He went to Japan last year and belongs to the group, we are not Asian but that does not matter. The big deal behind the event was an appearance by Hyun Jiu Ryu. We were able to get a group photo and Kids were able to get autographs. Sam got an 8X10 signed. Guy is gigantic. He seemed a bit overwhelmed even though there were very few people there. Anyway, we waited for the rain to let up....
The game was delayed an hour and 45 minutes with the last 45 minutes being for field prep/tarp removal. Int hat time Sam set himself up to get Kemp so we missed on the following who signed:
Scott Schumaker
Ramon Hernandez
Dee Gordon
Nick Punto
Scott Van Slyke
Javy Guerra
and there may have been another
but we got Kemp:
2012 topps heritage (dodgers big three) with Kershaw and Ethier.
2011 Topps Heritage (Dodger Dandies) with Eithier.
I guess we will try to complete these next season...
Great series for the locals as the Braves swept and there was plenty of Graphing to be had. Tonight brings on the Twins!!!!

Good luck with the Twins! I'm anxious to see how you do. I'm personally not a fan of them, but living in MN, I go to signings and games now and then. They are usually not a good signing team, but I have been hearing that this year has been better for the local graphers. I haven't made it down there yet, this year, though.
