Went down to Columbus last night to see the Toledo Mud Hens in Columbus for the third (I think) time this year. I wanted to see Nick Castellanos play one more time before I have to root against him, and I hadn't gotten to see Avisail Garcia at all this year, either. How'd I do? Pretty well...

Ended up getting one more Castellanos as I wanted him on a ball because his signature looks great on them...also was thrilled to get Avisail "El Hombre" Garcia, who has become a TOUGH signer. After getting those two (and Hankins and Nevin), I headed over to work on some Clippers stuff since I'd gotten the guys I needed from Toledo. All in all, a pretty great day! A Carrera and a Nevin are for trade if anyone needs them...hopefully I'll be able to add another story to my success thread here soon!

So, I made a trip to Akron today for what was supposed to be Roger Dorn Snowglobe night and to see the Altoona Curve play in town. The night was awful, as the snowglobes didn't get there in time for the game, so I have three vouchers for them that I have to figure out how to redeem soon. Jameson Taillon, target number one for the evening, was pitching (so I knew he wouldn't sign). Gregory Polanco, target number two, was in New York for the Futures Game.


After realizing that, I decided to not bother getting autographs and just spend some time with my dad and brother who came to the game with me. Corbin Bernsen (Roger Dorn from Major League) was there signing autographs and throwing out the first pitch. Because that's the greatest movie ever made, I got his autograph during the second inning, which more than made my night. Results? Ha...

Unfortunately, I can't post an image of the ROMLB because that would undoubtedly lead to a suspension...but he signed it on the sweet spot and, upon request, added the inscription, "Strike this Mother****er Out!" which was one of the best lines in one of the best movies ever. If anyone wants to see it, I can try to take a photo and blur out the obscene part of the inscription. It is DEFINITELY the coolest piece in my collection to date!

Thanks! I was surprised he was willing to sign it that way, but it's seriously the coolest piece in my collection, solely based on it's uniqueness.

Let me preface this post by say that I hate children and will never help them get autographs again...

Had a long day yesterday as it started with a paid Michael Brantley signing (his first ever!) and followed up with a trip to the Akron Aeros game that night. Brantley was a cool as could be, surprisingly, and I think my photo turned out great. The Aeros game, unfortunately, wasn't nearly as fun.


My complaining about all the little brats at the game last night can be seen here: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/5384040-post600.html so I'll keep the rest of the post relatively short. That took away a lot of the 'graphing in Akron. I still managed to get two signatures, one that I was really after, but it ruined my chances of getting Francisco Lindor...or anyone else I really wanted for that matter. See if I ever help kids again...

I love the Aguilar, though, so it all worked out I guess. Plus I have Lindor already and will have plenty of other chances to get him. Oh well, not an awful day, but it would've been a lot better.
