Veggie, I think you misinterpreted the point of my post.
Both kids had their lives taken from them. Both are a tragedy. Regardless of who shot who and which person/people were arrested, why does one story make national news and the other does not? Is one child more important than the other?I only use PayPal G&S and I do not ship internationally
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

The reason why the Trayvon case made national news was because of the delay in arresting zimmerman. Yes it is tragic when anyone is murdered especially a child but people including kids die every day so there is no controversy to the Marley Lion story unless someone wants to turn it into a racial issue when there are no facts to support it. Remember controversy sells.Drug and smoke free trading.

Don't you think there could be a reason for the delay in his arrest? Zimmerman was taken into custody the night of the shooting, then released. On March 12th (approx 2 weeks after Trayvon was shot), the police chief states Zimmerman was not arrested because there were no grounds to disprove his account. Now, I know there were obvious issues with the police department and their investigation.....but Zimmerman (eventually) was officially charged with second-degree murder and he turned himself in that same day. The case starts and he is then found not guilty by a jury of his peers. I honestly do not know whether he acted in self defense of not, but it sounds like the prosecution did a terrible job of building a case against Zimmerman. It sounds like they didn't have any evidence to support his murder charge.
Now back to my point.......I would bet anything that this is not the first time there has been a delay in arresting someone on a murder charge. That being said, is a delay in arrest enough of a reason to create a media explosion like the one for this case? If so, where are the other cases in the news? Is it enough for one case to have a witness and another case not enough for a media free-for-all?

Again you are comparing apples to organges. Someone murdered a black child so the black community took action since the system has failed us one time too many. Why is that such a problem for everyone? Since there was a lot of controversy with the stand your ground law along with the delay in arresting zimmerman the media only did their job by reporting such. There was no controversy to the Marley case because the suspects were quickly arrested will be tried, more than likely convicted and there is a good chance will be executed.

So is the white kid the apple or the orange? A kid is a kid, regardless of race.....it shouldn't matter. So, controversy is the key to starting a media circus? Like I mentioned before, this is probably not the first time a delay in arresting someone on a murder charge has happened. What makes this case more special than other ones similar?

Not sure where you are getting your info, but treatment starts almost immediately and "don't pay as much" is an understatement. At least it did for the last 4 or 5 people I know personally diagnosed with cancer.

You are right. Any kid or adult for that matter should have the person who killed them be bought to justice. At least in one of the two cases you mentioned there is a good chance of that happening. If we as the black community would not have stood up and demanded justice the Trayvon case probably would have not even gone as far as it did. Again in the Marley case his killers were caught and jailed right away and will all but certianly be convicted with good chance of execution. Why would the media waste their time beating on a dead horse?Last edited by mrveggieman; 07-17-2013 at 01:43 PM. Reason: typo
