I said it above or on the last page. I don't own a gun, and I never will. But if happened to be holding one and someone was charging at me....you bet your aunt sally that I would shoot first and answer questions later.
But it may be a different psychological mindset for women than men.

I doubt I'd ever try to detain three people that were breaking into cars. At some point a video or Picts on your phone would be way safer and great proof. Plus you never know what the criminals have. Why put your life on the line over things. I get wanting to catch criminals but people have to realize they aren't batman.
Don't get me wrong. It's not the smartest thing to do to run at a guy with a gun. I'm just saying the law may not be on your side. I say don't even put yourself into the situation where you are trying to detail three suspects who are breaking into cars.

Here's an interesting question. Say you are out walking eith yiur friends and some guy thinks you are breaking into cars and he pulls a gun on you. Is it self defense if you shoot him when he has a gun drawn on you?

yeah he shouldnt have went across the street....should have watched out the window liek i do my neighbors who fight all the time.
if he pulls a gun on me i say "hey we were just walking" if he says hes calling the police...then fine i just sit there or stand there. no need to get shot, but since he does have a gun drawn id say it is ok to fire at him. he has intent to shoot by pulling a gun out on someone therefore you have the right to shoot him due to self defense or in georges defense feeling as if you are going to die.
and i agree, dont put yourself into a situation that would cause someone to pull a gun out on you, yeah some people are nuts.
the thing with trayvon was he shouldnt have turned around to zim...should have kept walking...he cause the fight by hitting george according to testimony.....if he would have just went home he would be alive...even if george told him to come here...he should have ignored him............he probably got mad at him for following and went to confront him, got mad, hit him, scuffled, and george shot him out of self defense.

Now that's just a ridiculous question....... and I'm going to have to speak in hypotheticals. But, if I was simply WALKING with friends, and a MAN pulled a gun on me, and IF talking him down didn't work, and IF he was adamant about shooting....assuming I COULD pull my NONEXISTENT gun out of my purse and SHOOT him before he can SHOOT me, then yes, I would, even though I wouldn't want to. And yes I'd call it self defense.
But really id just say cvall the cops and then they can sort it out

The moral of this story (and many stories) is: leave your gun at home. Once a gun is introduced into any situation, someone (even the gun owner) has a good chance of dying. Unfortunately, people who own/carry guns (Zimmerman comes to mind) feel invincible and make stupid decisions because of it. In this particular case, a camera phone is the best and wisest weapon.

how about the moral of the story is if you own and carry a gun you have some major responsibilities. This is not about a highschool or bar fight, this is about defending your life. Someone who wants to cause you physical harm may kill you whether it is their intent or not. The human body is fragile, just punching someone in the face can result in death, and it happens. It is not the punch that kills you but the fall, hitting your head on cement or any hard surface from 5 foot and higher can easily result in death. Though it may not happen it is always to be prepared for the worse when defending your life, it is not only your life but it will affect your loved ones and those who depend on you.
That all being said, this guy should have called the cops and then yelled out his window, they may have gotten away, but they are only minor criminals, I might have different thoughts if it was a home being invaded or rape or kidnapping or such.
