A certified cut dual auto 1/1 of Babe Ruth and Howie Morenz.... and people can only seem to complain!

What a sad state of the world we're in. Truly.

Two beautiful signatures (maybe not cut from GREAT samples, but they're clear). For what its worth.... and my opinion is FAR from being an expert. I've seen a Ruth signature up close, only pics of Morenz..... they both look to be real.

I do agree UD did a bad job on the card though. The "1 of 1" looks cheesy, and like a ton of cards from that set - the edges are awful.

While those facts are dissapointing, I don't think the signatures are at all.

There used to be,u could have only seen it on ebay.ca but they changed that too,i heard some people can see it but they never say how!

As for the card,as i said the card looks ugly, but the signatures are beautiful, only if upper deck use a lil love & care for the way the card came out we wouldnt be talkin about it! But my personal opinion,If i wanted to spend +$5k i would have got something better from Ruth, thats only my PO ;)

I don't really care about the condition of the card since it is a 1/1 card (the 1 of 1 looks worse than 1/1 written IMO but that's not a big deal) but the cuts look like they were glued onto paper repeatedly by a school child before UD stopped them. I mean these are 2 rare and expensive cut autographs you would think they would take their time and care to make them look presentable....the glue looks like it smudged the "Babe" but that is hopefully from the scan.

I don't think we're out of line at all, and Ima tell you why :D

You know how I feel about Howie Morenz, and you know I'd give up a body part for a cut auto. I got nothing against Babe Ruth either, one of my coolest non-hockey cards is this.........

So you put those two guys on the same card, the greatest sporting heroes from Canada and the USA from the first half-century, and it's a no-brainer. Like I said, I've seen this card on eBay a few times the last couple years and there was actually a few fleeting weeks, before my little financial house of cards imploded, that I could have swung it. Honest and for true.

But COME ON, look at it. Forget for a moment who's on the card and Look. At. It. Two vintage signatures with a Space-Age "Dual Black Cuts" logo. A Canadiens logo but because of no MLB license, an American flag. Bring-your-six-year-old-to-work-and-have-him-write-1of1-on-a-card-day.

How often does a card company get the chance to play with autos like those? And how is it a lot of us at SCF know of two or three of our very own members here who could have done a better job with them??

Personally, I've got nothing against the signatures, you work with what you've got when you're working with 80 year-old stuff. I think what's truly sad is the idea of what could have been made.

I don't know the availability of Morenz autographs but Ruth has a lot on the market (for somebody from that era) and that is probably the worst I've ever seen Upper Deck use for him.

If you go on watchcount.com you can see the final price of best offers on ebay by copy and pasting the item number into the space provided. Just figured it out last week.
