Our spending doesn't "hasten" each year.. IT SHOULD lol.. but it doesn't. As you said we are at a stalemate.. we aren't spending at all.. I'm getting sick of explaining this. Because of the BS in washington we now have nearly 100% debt to GDP.. why? Because we no longer produce as much, we no longer grow as much, and we care more about keeping taxes on the rich low, than improving the country as a whole. Then people like you run around saying "we spend too much" because you have no clue that the debt keeps going up because the republicans have created a box since 1980... until we bust out of this box we cannot grow any larger than it.

from 1933 until the late 70's we had nothing but growth in our country. What was the common denominator? Progessive tax laws and liberal style ecnomics... amazing how not one single stock market crash occured during this time. Since 1980 we llive in "bubbles"

Care to explain liberal style economics?

A progressive tax code and a "pay as you go" style of growth... IE if you want to build a multi billion dollar interstate highway system.. you create tolls to pay for the road buildings... that's how 20th century worked.. and worked well. Then came nixon.. and worse reagan. Sadly not enough time has passed for people to get that FDR, Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson had the right idea.. you grow with growth, not contraction.

I guess you're one of the people that makes this sign so darn funny.

And to address your point that there are more racist republicans than democrats: what is your definition of racism? I've had it argued to me that to be 'racist' you have to be benefiting or made more powerful by existing power structures, and therefore, only Caucasians can be racist. In other words, minorities can't be racist because they're not in power. Any racially fueled actions or statements they take or make are simply rebellion against racism against them. I personally thought it was a load of phewey and was disappointed I was paying to sit in a college class and have that preached at me, but, if you subscribe to that, I can see your point. Because statistically, minorities typically align with the left, if they can't be 'racist', you could logically argue there are more racist republicans.

Then came along republicans who decided that the funds being created should actually be used elsewhere and mess everything up (A nixon ideal that he used on Social Security and Medicare as well). Sadly not enough time has passed for people to get that FDR, Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson had the right idea.. you grow with growth, not contraction.

Reverend Wright is a racist... Pat Robertson is a racist... the tea party idiots who hold up signs of Obama as a witch doctor and wave the confederate flag are racists... hating someone because of the color of their skin, religion, or lifestyle is a racist and/or bigot. The FAR majority of these people live in the right end of the political pool.

*smacks forehead*... instead of answering the question.. you guys attacked me and told me "I don't get it" in your own way... this is exactly what I am talking about...

FYI.. Obamacare is based on the 1993 Heritage Foundation alternative to "Hillary Care" and is a near carbon copy of what Mitt Romney did in Massachusetts. Because a democrat made it actually happen.. republicans went from loving it, to hating it with a passion.

On the "1-10" scale.. we're at a 4. Where could we be without republican obstructionism? Who knows... but with a proper infrastructure stimulus instead of more tax cuts and financial bs.. we would be in a lot better place today. Imagine that.. creating blue collar jobs and starting a more than 3 trillion dollar project that is MANDATORY within the next 10-15 years to save our country.. crazy I know. Instead republicans demanded another 300 billion dollars in tax cuts as part of the stimulus and people on wall street got that much richer.

Now... anyone want to tell me what republicans have offered this country in the way of a new idea? Within the next few weeks the president plans to start Immigration reform. Believe it or not a lot of republican senators (Rubio, McCain, Graham, etc etc) are on the same page with the President on this issue.. they all agree on the Dream Act.. How much do you want to bet that all of them (McCain has already flipped on this 3-4 times) oppose the president when he purposes it?

FYI.. The Dream act was another republican "idea" from years ago that they hate today lol

I believe i answerd your questions. Its like talking to a brick wall with you sometimes.
On obamacare. Why do you think the heritage found. healthcare propsal wasnt enacted? Maybe they actually thought it through? Bad ideas can come from both sides you realize? Only one side has been trying to ram this through for years. Care to guess which one?
Secondly mitt romney did not create the healthcare bill in mass. He said he signed it however because he thought the people wanted it. Also, i think most conservatives on here would have less of an issue if it were a state matter. If obamacare was modeled after that bill why would anyone want it. Hows it working out? Its a tax, its a penalty, its a.......nice.
No more amnesty period. We see how it worked when reagan did it. The bill was first written in 2001 by durbin and hatch. Hardly a repub idea. But it has some points i do agree with. I wouldnt do it retroactive but going ahead only.

I suppose if you truly believe that anything more than the most far reaching minority of the far right would actually argue that Obama should be impeached because of the color of his skin, that would explain a lot of your misguided opinions and overall attitude toward the GOP. Heck, I wouldn't consider aligning myself with a party that in any way stood for that (not that I align myself with any party consistently, I vote for candidates, not parties).

Mitt Romney ran his 2008 presidential campaign on that bill "he said he signed because the people wanted it" lol...why do you guys have such beer goggles on history?

Was it the far fringe of the right that impeached Clinton because he had an affair and lied about it? This is how these people think on the right.. they cannot accept reality unless it fits their dogma. Imagine the democrats impeaching HW Bush for puking on the Japanese Prime Minister lol.. that's about the logic of the right.

I don't see the connection between the conversation we were having about racism and Clinton being impeached. Help me out.
