We always get our choice of Doctors in Canada. What is the same as America is the waiting list for the best surgeons for non life threatening procedures.
Americans and Canadians have the exact same problem, everybody wants a new knee, or a new hip, but only one Doctor at doing it is the best, so they all wait anywhere from 3-9 months because they all want that one surgeon.
The largest and most incorrect assumptions that Americans have about Canadian Health Care, is that Americans are certain that we do not get to choose our Doctors, our Internists, or our Surgeons, that is just an absolute lie.
Now lets say that the best Orthopedic Surgeon to do your back/knee/hip, has moved from Saskatchewan to Alberta and is out of your network. You can still be a resident of Sask, and go to Alberta where the Doctor has moved to, and have your procedure. The Province of Alberta, just bills Sask Health for the cost, so Canadians have real choice there.Last edited by centrehice; 10-25-2013 at 02:45 PM.

Perhaps.
An alternative viewpoint is that Obamacare was unpopular before and is getting more unpopular by the day. Will more people view the Republican fight against Obamacare as the correct position now, especially since the Democrats are now agreeing with the position of delaying the individual mandate?

In America, the cost is crushing for most out of network healthcare.

No, they won't. As the public tries the new system and realizes that all the fear-mongering is just that, they will be pleasantly surprised at how better and more affordable their health care will be. As for the Democrats asking for a delay; I already explained that before. These are Democrats with a political race to win in 2014 AND the delay they speak of is only intended to last until the registration glitches are cleared up. It is NOT the same type of delay the Republicans want.
Republicans are running out of time and it scares the crap out of them. The problems with the rollout just bought them a glimpse of hope and now they will play that hand for all it's worth. Just as they have done with every other failed strategy.

Hard core liberals won't be swayed, but there are plenty of people in the middle who could be. The Democrats own Obamacare as it passed with no Republican votes, so any problems will be layed at the feet of the Democrats. Increased premiums, modified and cancelled policies, primary care doctors no longer available, reduced job hours, increased co-pays; these are all negative.
If this analysis of Wisconsin premiums is anywhere close to reality, how can people in Wisconsin be happy with Obamacare?

Health-care premiums in Wisconsin will almost double under Obamacare, compared with their current rates, according to a report from the MacIver Institute.
The state’s free-market think tank figured the average premiums of the insurance plans the Obamacare exchange offers for several categories of Wisconsinites: 27-year-olds, 50-year-olds, and a family of four from data found on a federal database. The institute then compared those rates with the average premiums on the private market, using figures from eHealthInsurance.com.
MacIver found that rates will jump significantly, especially for the young: A 27-year-old will see premiums more than double in one county in 2014, and see his rates go up by 93.6 percent in Madison, 91.2 percent in Milwaukee, and 72.6 percent in Eau Claire.
Fifty-year-olds will be paying more overall, too, but their premiums won’t go up quite as much, jumping by about half. Families will see their premiums rise at similar rates to young people: A family of four will see a spike of 97.2 percent in Brown County, and increases of just below 90 percent in Milwaukee and Dane counties.

There are a Ton of Democrats that are seething about this new Health Care Act. Why? Because they were promised by Obama that Health Insurance Companies would not PILE-ON
It took all Health Insurance Companies exactly 24 hours to PILE-ON. We are Democrats and are faced with an extra $1,000.00 minimum per year for the increase in our Son's Health Care coverage alone. I am uninsured because we cannot afford it, and I am no spring chicken.
For our Son, his coverage doubled, and the Co-pay tripled. The US Government is not in control of anything. This new Health Care Act has opened the door up for more Health Insurance Company extortion.

More fear-mongering. That analysis won't be anywhere near reality.

The government got support from the industry by designing the plan this way. They said we are going to have costly mandates for you to fulfill, but in return we will require that everyone buys your product from you. I don't understand how you can think the government isn't knee deep in this mess.

Maybe. Yet you are noticing the rates for your son going much higher.
The numbers below are legit. Of course, they are averages from different healthcare.gov company plans and different counties in Wisconsin for 2014, but they did compare them to plans offered on the private websites.

That Per-Month chart above is pure EXTORTION, no if's, and's or buts. And to think that the Platinum coverage still leaves a 20% coverage shortfall for every individual, and is NOT comprehensive.
Bloody extortion.Last edited by centrehice; 10-25-2013 at 04:07 PM.
