Where did you see an $8 Seth Jones YG? I'll take some at that price.
But I agree, the big stars aren't selling for huge amounts.

good (as a buyer) .... and they will fall from what they are selling for now as the initial buzz/need to own first syndrome dies down
I'll gladly wait till the price of a MacKinnon comes down to earth as I do believe it is grossly overpriced right now

One problem is that they were on ebay as a pre-sell 2 weeks before release date. More people did buy UD 1 aswell

Maybe people have finally figured out YG's are a terrible investment at 500,000 copies or so...if a Toew's can be had for 70-80, why pay a fortune for a Yak etc...

Many collectors did not buy cards last year, waiting and pilling up money for this year crop, so I am certain many jump on the product so more are available and why rookie are not really doing well. At least this is what I think make a difference. Also it's not as clear this year who are the top rookie. Like it started with last year rookie being Yakupov and Galchenyuk but now this year crop is also making it's way. So you do not have the one hit rookie like in other years. Seth, Yak, Galley, Mackinnon are all name that could pop out. Also there is the one in the Shark that had a good beginning. So who really is the best guy, hard to say as if you look at stats, not everyone expected to do well are doing well and other are when no one really expected them. So it's not as clear who the top guy is as there are so many names.
For instance I did pull a few Yakupov and yet I don't get much demand for trading for him. I still have Score and Artifacts RC from Yac and not really getting much demand. I did move my artifacts ruby and probably two prizm but in other years I would never keep them for long when pulling top rookie. So I think we do buy a lot and it reduce demand and also the fact we can't say this is the top guy does not help drive price up.

It's unfortunate that the values are getting depressed as quickly as they are. Usually it's not till Beckett tells everybody that a card selling for $80 is only worth $50 that this happens.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I think that a lot of guys doing the set are going for a case of this stuff this year (because it is so loaded) and therefore don't need to buy singles.

The Upper Deck Series was never designed to be more than a $40-$50.00 Hobby Box. Only overzealous buyers have caused it to reach the Mid-$80-$90.00 retail price structure.
Getting a $50.00 sale for one card in this issue, has always been a positive. I don't understand the low-ball talk when you are netting above $40.00 per card.

I remember gettin $90 for my Nuge YG when it came out, heck i sold my Score Nuge for $45. This year,I sold my Yakupov for $33 & Mackinnon for $60 (should have kept it!)
I wanted to know why this happened,if the prices are goin down thats gonna suckkkk!!
