The cop deserves the death penalty but this does not excuse this guys actions nor the fact the cops hands are tied when someone flees.

How are a cops hands tied when someone flees? Were his choices only "Let him go" or "Shoot him"?

Clearly, it's an indication that police training is INCORRECT.

ALL Cops should be fit to run after a suspect, to use NON-lethal force to catch him, UNLESS they pose a real threat to said officer or someone else.

It's laziness, it's complacency, and it's BAD training why this is occurring.

Just because the officer doesn't act in the correct way, does not mean his training was incorrect. It means he didn't follow his training.

Fair enough, I can grant that.

But when we hear so many of these stories where cops shoot a person when they had other options, you start to wonder why that is.

The FEDERAL government MUST step in and REGULATE.

    what are his choices.
    lets see.

yell stop and they laugh at you.
yell stop or I'll shot and get laughed at because everyone knows they are not allowed to shot you.
chase someone into an unknown area with unknown potential of harm.
chase them into a crowded area, schoolyard, or neighborhood and have a potential worse situation.
chase someone and this someone shoots you.
chase someone, manage to catch him and now have to physically arrest him, pretty dangerous.
don't chase them and they go on to commit more crimes.

so yes their hands are tied in the fact they only options suck.

are you joking? This is the last thing that needs to happen, the feds are way worse off with corruption than anyone else. The feds cannot even handle our money right and make more poor decisions than all the cops combined.

This is how spending works in any large institution.
I work for a very large, global company and am forced to book travel through our corporate site. A room at a Hilton will run me $200 plus the $16 booking fee from corporate travel - where I can go and book it at $150 direct from Hilton. In perfect fashion, my expense management is part of my measurables come review time. Awesome.

OT but this isn't only a government problem is my point.

It really depends on the expense. My wife works for the state dept. of ed and when she travels for work and stays at a hotel she gets the government rate which is actually cheaper than the standard rate. She gets rooms at resorts and 5 star hotels for the government flat rate of $89 a night. Go figure.

So your answer is more Federal control of local situations? Come on. Talk about making a bad situation even worse!

FYI, Federal law enforcement agencies like the FBI and DEA are just as corrupt, just as full of meatheads with anger management problems as local and state law enforcement agencies. The suggestion that Federal employees are somehow incapable of doing the same violent, uncalled for things is absurd.

Any one of these seems fine. Not sure why the people who sign up for being put into dangerous situations shouldn't have to get into dangerous situations.

Yeah, that's right I trust the federal government more than American cops.

Congrats American Cops, I have a lower opinion of you than the god damn government.
