So his YG will sell for $200, instead of $300, and then when he comes back, it will go right back up in price anyways.
If you buy a box and pull a McDavid, you're still going to turn a profit. I don't think this is going to be a big deal

I wonder how he'll play at his return. Many times, young players getting an injury are more nervous on the ice at their return.

Talk about the worst possible timing for this eh? Right on the eve of the biggest release of the calendar.
It's going to have a downward effect for sure on the value of the YG.
It's also going to likely impact the pre-orders for future products coming out in the next couple months.
Here's hoping that he pots a hatty in his first game back.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

It won't go up because by that time the market will be already flooded....only the first few go high...like Tavares for $150....now $60 after he proves he's good...
So McDavid will be easily picked up later for $175 usd..
There's no way anyone will be paying $300 usd for him in a few months when you'll be able to get his FWA for $400-$500

A lot of guys seem to be talking about how he will be when he gets back and I think he will be fine. Lets not forget he broke his hand last year and even though that is a less serious injury it still did not affect his play. I think he will start right where he left off.

Will the value of his Artifacts Redemption go down now?

If he only broke his clavicle he'll basically be 100% once he's recovered and back in game shape. Broken collarbones are one of those injuries where you pretty much never have any lingering problems.

As soon as his YG is available, I would say the Artifacts drops in price. But that's just a guess

When people finally realize Artifacts RCs have never held value, are never a popular set with collectors ....... and when something else comes out. Then they will realize, damn, ive been buying rookie parallels for the longest time. This isnt Baseball ...... hockey collectors dont swing that way.
Its like all those people paying $600 - $800 for his Team Canada Auto Patch. They just want it now because they are stupid / dont really know the hockey market / too impatient to wait for real cards. Seeing as most of the people who bought these are probably investors, gonna be sad for them when something like his SPA FW Au Patches / SPx RC Au Patches come out and their pre rookie auto patches not pictured in a EDM uni sells for half of what they paid
