He didnt say it sold for 18000$ up front, he traded it 26 to 1, and the cards received were sold in turn for 18000$. Either way, still hard to believe, you would have to show some proof of this to even make it slightly believable

Well at least someone knows how to read. I also didn't trade-away all of the cards or sell all of them either (yet) - just moved some of the key ones (Stamkos, Price & Kane) in another deal that netted me another pile of goodies.

In the end, had two strong cash offers for it and the person who offered the trade, obviously needed to beat them in a big way - which he did. The end result, netted me the (26) cards with a estimated cash-value in or around the $17k-$20k range.

Of course, since the person wants to sell the card himself now, they appear to have buyer's (trader's remorse). Since I wouldn't provide the person with the personal info/e-mails of a couple of the other potential bidders, that also apparently makes me a crook.

There's a handful of people out there who know the deal, the players involved and the cards, so it can be left at that.

Sorry to the poster for hijacking the thread.

    Fairy-Nuff.....

For the guy who traded you all the great cards having buyers remorse?

He can go suck eggs. As long as you are comfortable with your deal and happy with the cash you were able to generate and perhaps a few hidden gems for your own collection, that's all that you can ask for.

I was not trying to poke you with a stick, just wanted some honest answers and above all, wanting you to succeed with whatever avenue you took once you decided to part with the Subban.

I'm glad that you had that success.

    ^^^^^ +1

Once the deal is made, the deal is made. Its your call if you want to tell him the potential buyers, but its a privacy issue u do not have to give out. If the person wants to sell it, they can do their own leg work to find a buyer/trader just like you did.

No worries. I already hijacked the poster's thread but didn't want to get into a "mine's bigger then his" game either, showing-off the spoils of my deal. I made what I felt was a strong deal for the card and so did the other party at that time. Granted, most people would still think I'm nuts for turning down cash but while the bigs deals are too few and far between these days, the only real enjoyment that I still get from the hobby, is putting a block-buster together. This was pretty big but was later a peon, compared to what soon followed.

I actually contacted the "runner-up" to the Subban for this party and informed him that the new owner was looking to move the card. If he was still interested, I told him to let me know and I would then pass his info onto the guy. Unfortunately, I never heard back from him (not sure if he was pissed at losing out the first time or what), so I let it be.

The Subban owner then got pissed at me because I wouldn't provide the person's e-mail address and personal info (which I would never do without their consent). He then took it a step further, telling anyone who would listen that I never in fact, even had any serious offers on the card.

After that, I told the guy "good-bye"....or something like that

I'm not a big show-and-tell person but because I in fact started some of this and have had a few people ask, I'll start a new thread in this section with a few pics of what Mr. Subban netted me.

Apologies again to the original poster for the hijacking.

It's tucked away very securely in a private collection. No word on price though.

    The Crosby sold for 42k
