Pack Addict Support Group?
I admit I have a problem. I am a pack junkie and am addicted to ripping packs. Even if I know the packs are garbage, I still enjoy opening them and checking out the cards. Yesterday I bought three boxes of mixed packs at Target. Each box had 10 packs, none of which were really worth anything. I'm talking pro set, score, pinnacle and upper deck from 1990, victory and mvp. There were six packs of 16-17 UD series 2, but three of them had been opened not even resealed.
After I opened the packs and looked at my bounty, I realized I could have put that $30 towards a hobby box. No $30 won't buy one, but after two or three trips to Target I will have spent as much as some hobby boxes.
If anyone knows of a Pack Rippers Support Group, that would be great. Maybe then I could kick this horrible, horrible disease!Hidden Content

Well yeah at least with hobby you have a shot and a monster hit like an exclusives YG star. That was my rational for buying a hobby box of 16-17 series 2 last week.
I didn't hit a Laine Exclusives, but I did get a canvas YG of some guy named Honka. Win some lose some I guess...

Just buy tons of boxes of junk wax for cheap. You can get them for next to nothing at shows or they have them real cheap online (but you have to pay shipping which basically makes it pointless when buying cheap wax).

Agreed with this. My lcs bought 700 boxes of junk wax (mostly baseball and football) and had been selling them for $10/ box, lowered to $5 for an Easter sale. But at least the designs were pretty good back then

LoL .... besides going to a show, or LCS ..... SCF as a means to NOT open wax is awful too!
There are no card shops within a 30min drive of me, so that makes not buying wax easier. I set up at the monthlies, and only buy wax if:
1 - Its my Birthday
2 - Its Christmas
3 - If I do well enough at the show to warrant buying wax
Luckily for me, the next show I will have a huge selection on my table, along with it being my Birthday =D
But as for using SCF as a support group to not buy wax ,,,, its really tough when you see someone busting, and doing very well. Always get the itch after I see good box breaks. What would actually help is if people posted their bad breaks .... those turn me off busting really quick
