I doubt Jameis cares about "looking bad" at all; the young man has the thickest skin of an athlete I've ever seen, other than maybe Kobe Bryant. He's been a media whipping boy since he was 19 years of age and nothing seems to bother him. On top of that, he's known as both a great teammate and a guy that actually has genuine love for his teammates and coaches, so if he thinks he's rusty & Fitz is on fire and gives the team a better shot to beat the Bears coming off a short week, I don't think he'll mind sitting that game out … if however he thinks he is in tip top condition and that he gives the team the best shot to win, it will likely really upset him if Fitz starts … either way, Jameis isn't LeVeon Bell, he loves his team and teammates and wants what's best for them.
The media focused on Lev partying and gaining weight and playing around while he's away from the Steelers, but what they didn't report was that Jameis, during his suspension was working with a QB guru and scripting entire practice sessions at the exact times the Bucs practices were happening, with players who had recently been cut from NFL rosters, getting game film from his own sources and studying that, and the like … it was also recently said that a mom of some Pop Warner kid saw Jameis at the mall getting lunch and introduced her son and Jameis let the mom snap a pic of him with her son and then bought all the kids there lunch … and when the pic hit twitter it showed Jameis in the public mall with a shirt on … and his football pants complete with the thigh pads and everything … he apparently had come straight off his private practice field to get a quick bite in the local mall before even changing his pants, probably as he was going back for a second practice session … this is the stuff those close to Jameis rave about all the time and the stuff the media ignores as they like stories that paint a bad picture of him.
Also, I don't know how bad any QB, be they Jameis or Aaron Rodgers, can look if they aren't immediately re-inserted as the starter coming off a short week and without even practicing with their own team for 3 weeks, when the current QB starting is averaging over 400 yards a game and has a 120+ passer rating … I mean really, where's the shame in that … Fitz is outplaying Brady, Rodgers and almost everyone not named Mahomes this season, to-date.
It's not like Jameis would be benched after actually playing a game the previous week, for Geno Smith (as future Hall of Famer Eli Manning was recently), he'd be held out until he's back in football form for a guy that just threw for 400+ yards in 3 straight games, which no one has ever done before … it wouldn't be a big deal even though the media would try to make it a big deal …
Heck, Hall of Famers Johnny Unitas and Kurt Warner weren't just benched, but flat out CUT by teams when they were young, as was HOF wide receiver Cris Carter ...
Yes, that would be a sensible course of action for the Bucs to take. If it happens, the trolls and Jameis-haters will have their fun, but people like that need something to keep themselves entertained, so it's no big deal.

I'm out as this isn't a debate. I now know why you do all these threads, twitter postings, and whatever else. Good luck and take care.
It would be weird if you even tried since I've never claimed he was "the best" … or even close to it. What I do claim are irrefutable facts, backed by hard data which is why I never lose a debate to anyone … no one should lose a debate when they have all the evidence on their side.
No one should ever lose a debate … one should only debate if they have the evidence on their side, and if they don't, they shouldn't even bother engaging in a debate as losing is inevitable. Now, if you're talking about debating mere "opinions" that have nothing to do with facts, anyone can win or lose those debates as they're just fun and also rather pointless … for example, it is my "opinion" that Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" is the greatest novel ever written, that 2Pac is the greatest rap-artist of all-time, that Whitney Houston is the greatest singer of all-time, that mint chocolate chip is the best flavor of ice cream, etc., … but I can't prove any of that as none of it is based on hard data, it's just an opinion and I could easily lose a debate to someone arguing for another novel, rap-artist, singer, ice cream flavor, etc.
As for having the "last word" … I've always enjoyed answering every question asked of me, or point raised in a discussion, and continue to enjoy doing so, but I've certainly let others have the last word in Twitter debates when they've signed off with something like "I concede" or "Thanks for your time, it was fun" ...[/QUOTE]

He should care. If he genuinely loves his teammates/coaches, he wouldn't put himself in bad situations, which he seems to do over and over. As for his thick skin, it's self inflicted. He's a knucklehead. The media attacks people who do stupid stuff. Enough said. Let's not compare Bell, a greedy holdout to Winston, an idiot who put himself in a bad situation. Apples and Oranges. As for Fitz, PLEASE write an article about how he's the most statistically accomplished journey man QB to start 3 NFL games or something like that. Might actually be worth reading.

Couldn't have said it better! Ditto to your comments.

Touchy, touchy … wow. You and EmmittZone seem "triggered" over a mere sports debate … silly.
Of course I love to debate, always have, and it's fun! Try to just have fun with it and not get personally offended or feel the need to "win" a debate, as there's no shame in admitting you're wrong about something when the facts presented to you prove such to be the case.
For example, if I claimed that Jameis had a stronger arm than Josh Allen (which I would not claim, as that obviously is not true) and one of you guys had hard data on the velocity of Allen and Jameis' throws which proved Allen had the bigger arm, I'd thank you for that info and admit I was wrong, not get triggered, throw out an insult and act crazy … debating anything is fun and debating sports is a blast as it's not even an "important" topic and is just there for amusement.
As for Fitzpatrick … if you follow my Twitter feed, you'd know I love Fitz and root for him and the like … I'm not one of those weirdly rabid and emotional fans that gets personally offended when one player does well … I find that sort of behaviour extremely strange. In fact, I also root for Mariota and Dak and have defended the both of them on Twitter … I'm also a huge fan of Wentz, Stafford, Todd Gurley, Jalen Ramsey and other players … people can't put me in a box … they can pretend I'm a rabid team fan or biased for certain players, but they have to lie to do so and it just makes me laugh.
Anyways, in regards to Fitz, his 3 game streak is awesome and it reminds me of Billy Volek's 2 game streak in 2004 when he replaced Steve McNair and set the NFL on fire … however, I find it very interesting that the media has been pumping out that Fitz broke a 3 game record but that they completely ignored Jameis breaking a 2-YEAR all-time record … the media is not in the business of simply reporting the truth accurately, they are in the business of selling "stories", spinning narratives and guiding the public to think the way they want them to think ...
Also, let me get this straight, Jameis, a guy who has NEVER even been arrested in his entire life, let alone convicted of any crime ever, and has now been suspended once for 3 games for something that has never even been proven to have occurred, where the accuser has now told 4 different versions of her story, and after claiming she wasn't in it for the $$$ is now suing for $$$$, is an "idiot" and a "knucklehead", but LeVeon Bell is only a "greedy holdout" who shouldn't be compared to Jameis? Um …. you do realize that it is LeVeon who has been both arrested and convicted, right? You do realize that it is LeVeon who has been suspended TWICE by the NFL already, right?
As for Jameis' suspension being "self-inflicted", I'd agree if there was even one shred of proof that he did what he was accused of (any of the driver's four differenrt versions), but there isn't. With Ezekiel Elliott there was a medical report, police report and even videographic evidence, so his suspension was definitely self-inflicted. With Nigel Bradham, there was an arrest and conviction, so I consider his suspension self-inflicted. With Lev Bell, Von Miller and Jason Peters there was at least one arrest each, so there suspensions can be referred to as self-inflicted. However, with Tom Brady, there was no actual evidence and I do not consider his suspension to have been self-inflicted. And, again, Jameis Winston has NEVER even been arrested, let alone convicted of a crime, for anything, at anytime, in his entire life, so, while it's easy to insult him and say the suspension was "self-inflicted", the only thing we know for sure was that he was partying after working at Kurt Warner's charity, got inebriated and took an Uber ride rather than drive drunk (like Jason Peters and various other NFL player's who have been arrested for such), that's it. If Jameis didn't do what the Uber driver said, and with four different versions of her story and now her going after $$$$ when she said she had no interest in $$$$ during the investigation to lend more credibility to her claims, there is at least a distinct possibility that the driver is lying and making a money grab … and if that is the case, not only is his suspension not "self-inflicted" at all, it was entirely unjust, as I believe Tom Brady's was.
And, your comment that if Jameis puts himself in bad situations over and over, is absurd … this is his 4th season in the NFL and the only bad situation he's been in, was when he was inebriated he took an Uber instead of drove drunk … that's not even a bad situation to begin with, let alone proof of being in a bad situation "over and over" … Lev Bell has been arrested and suspended on two different occasions, Von Miller is known as one of the most insane driver's in Denver and has been arrested and is now being invested for killing some endangered animal or something, Jason Peters has been arrested multiple times and was convicted … those guys have put themselves in bad situations "over and over", yet, guess what? The media never talks about any of that and those guys are never referred to as "knuckleheads" and the like … again, the media doesn't care about truth and accuracy, they are selling stories, spinning narratives, creating good guys and bad guys … it's all so transparent.
Finally, your statement regarding the media is utterly absurd and extremely naďve. I'll just end this post with a few quotes:
“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” – Malcolm X“We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.”
– Author,George Orwell
“Today the world is the victim of propaganda because people are not intellectually competent.”
– George Washington University President, William Mather Lewis
“If it’s true that nothing is morepotent than an idea, then those who control the media can direct minds en masse.”
- Author, Lance Morcan
"The most dangerous untruths are truths moderately distorted."
- Physicist, Georg Christoph Lichtenberg
“Until you realize how easily it is for your mind to be manipulated, you remain the puppet of someone else's game."
- Author Evita Ochel

Just had to write ANOTHER novel... a quick 5 or 6 line post doesn't cut it? Also, not sure its the debate(if you can call it that) that's triggering us. To your point about "winning the debate" or "admitting you are wrong", I have given an opinion... so there's nothing for me to admit to. I think he's and idiot. I think you are wrong to anoint him the best thing that's ever set foot on a football field. Those are opinions, opinions that are shared by many. I'll take solace in that... even if that means I don't "win" the debate.

You've got to know by now that I enjoy writing and debating … that entire "novel" reply took me like 7 minutes to write as I think, research and type extremely fast … it's fun for me … I'm a strange cat.
Also, not sure its the debate(if you can call it that) that's triggering us. To your point about "winning the debate" or "admitting you are wrong", I have given an opinion... so there's nothing for me to admit to.
I didn't say you personally needed to admit anything, I'm simply saying that too many people feel the need to be right even when confronted with evidence that proves them wrong and I don't understand that. I enjoy learning new things so I thank people on Twitter and the like if they can prove me wrong about something, as that will mean they have hard data I haven't seen or considered before. There is one statistician and QB researcher on Twitter that I love messaging with as he's been studying QBs even longer than I have and has shown me research I never looked into before … he's also very high on Jameis based on the data, but it's his research on QBs of the distant past that I really appreciate, QBs like Charlie Conerly, a guy who should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame but isn't and is now all but forgotten.
I think he's and idiot.
You're free to think whatever you want … I just found it strange you acted like Lev Bell was on some higher plane when Lev is the one who has been arrested and suspended two different times by the NFL and Jameis has NEVER even been arrested in his life, let alone convicted of a crime, ever.
I think you are wrong to anoint him the best thing that's ever set foot on a football field.
Now you're doing what the EmmittZone guy did … you're claiming I said something I never said and then arguing against that non-statement. I didn't even rank Jameis in my top 8 QBs going into this year, have never come close to saying he's the best QB in the current NFL, let alone of all-time, etc. I have challenged multiple people to point out just one factually inaccurate statement I've ever made about Jameis and no one has ever been able to do so. This is the stuff I find so funny … people can't refute anything I actually say, so they pretend I said something I never said so they can refute that non-statement … it's all very silly.
Those are opinions, opinions that are shared by many. I'll take solace in that... even if that means I don't "win" the debate.
Don't take solace in one of your opinions being shared by many … hold opinions that are based on hard data without caring what anyone else thinks … that is both more logical and a whole lot more fun … it's no fun to just run with the masses … and yes, that last statement is only my "opinion"

SuperZeke, just let it go. He will probably take the 3 or 4 sentences I write and rebuttal with 5000 words. Just know that I am on your side!!

Your reply doesn't need a rebuttal as it doesn't say anything … have a great weekend!

You are pretty observant. But yet you did in fact have to write a reply. Strange cat indeed. Hope you have a great weekend as well.
