What? Tons of NFL QBs left college early … thee were a bunch of 21 year old and mere 3-year-NCAA guys that went to the NFL and played QB in the past dating back to the 1960s … Jameis is #1 alll-time in yards and TDs before the age of 24, which includes ALL QBs in the history of football … it's not Jameis' fault that Brady and Rodgers and other guys weren't good enough to get drafted #1 overall and handed a franchise at the age of 21 … it's not Jameis' fault that Brady was busy getting benched at Michigan for a baseball player named Drew Henson … it just is what it is.
Of course his stats are going to be better than those guys.
It's not just "those guys" listed on the chart that his stats are better than, it's EVERY GUY who has ever played QB in the NFL and again, there were a bunch of 21 year old and 3-year-NCAA starting QBs in the NFL way, way,way before Jameis …
The reasoning isn't because those guys held a clipboard or that Jameis is soooo much better than them. The only thing those stats mean, is that he left school and started playing in the NFL earlier than all those other guys that went to college for 4 years. That is the reason and nothing else.
You're 100% wrong, as it's not just "those guys" on the list, but ALL GUYS EVER that Jameis has bested. And, had guys like Rivers, Brees, Roethlisberger, etc., been good enough to get drafted #1 overall after their 3rd year in college, rather than 4th, I imagine many of them would have entered the draft … again, you can punish Jameis for being better than those guys at a younger age, but that seems strange … honestly it's exactly what Kobe-haters and LeBron-haters do with Kobe & LeBron's stats and accomplishments since they entered the NBA right out of high school instead of staying 4 years like Tim Duncan … it cracks me up.
I agree with the fact that he is the #1 all time in nfl history in passing yds and TDs before 24,
Well, that's good, because, you know, it's a FACT and all ...
but in your assessment, perhaps you should have mentioned it was only because he left school early so he has many more games to accumulate those stats.
That simply is not true, as again, Jameis wasn't even close to the first 21 year old or 3-year-NCAA starting QB in NFL history; however, that Jameis was 21 and went #1 overall and then won the starting job from Day 1 and then became the ONLY QB in history (of any age!!!!) to record back to back 4k seasons to start his career, all combined to make him #1 all-time in those categories.
I mean, you can try to downplay his accomplishment if you want, but you sound silly and just like some jealous hater which isn't a good look …
But, you don't mention that and it is the primary reason that your stated fact is true. Simply a mere spin of the stats to make an attempt to prove something that simply isn't true.
Prove something that isn't true? Um, you yourself admitted it's a FACT, a FACT means it's 100% true. You make no sense at all and you're trolling is starting to get on my nerves … mostly because you're not even good at trolling …
Honestly, what you sound like, is a Bears fan who says that Emmitt Smith actually sucked and the ONLY reason he's #1 all-time in rushing yards is because he had a better O-Line than Walter Payton ever had … that's just dumb. Emmitt's awesome O-Line is certainly "part" of the reason he's #1 all-time, just as Jameis starting at 21 is part of the reason he's #1 all-time in those stats, but Emmitt should also receive credit for being good enough to enter the league at 21 years of age (Emmitt was actually 4 months YOUNGER than even Jameis was when he entered the league!!) and win the starting RB spot, for playing till he was 35, for being durable and only missing 14 games in 15 seasons, etc., etc., just as Jameis should receive credit for being good enough to be drafted #1 overall at 21 years of age, for being good enough to win the starting QB spot on Day 1, for being good enough as a 21 year old that his coach allowed to use the full playbooks and even call his own audibles which are both rare for a rookie of any age, for being the ONLY player (of any age!!!!!!) to start his career with back to back 4k seasons, for staying healthy enough to rack up those record-breaking stats, for playing through a nasty throwing shoulder injury in 2017 rather than shutting down for the season, etc.
Seriously man, give it a rest … if you don't like the facts I bring up, go post on other threads and stay off of this one … it's a simple fix … and doing so will even allow you to spend time doing more important things than simply reading and replying to my posts regarding a player you don't even like … wise time management can be a beautiful thing, try it for yourself.Last edited by Jameis1of1; 10-04-2018 at 12:18 AM.

A good counterpoint would to do some research and find out if there is a QB out there who in his first four seasons put up better statistics than Jameis Winston. That would then shift the debate to what is a more important metric "stats by the age of 24" or "stats in their first four years in the NFL". It then removes the leaving college early as a point of contention. If one were so inclined ;)

Again, Jameis is the only QB of any age to ever start his career with back to back 4,000 yard seasons .. even the guys that played 4 years of college like Manning and Marino and the guys who got to sit and learn on an NFL bench like Brady and Rodgers never did that.
But, sure, there's QBs that put up better overall numbers than Jameis has, in their first 4 seasons of starting at QB, and off the top of my head, I'd guess that Aaron Rodgers would have the most impressive overall stats, however, when you get to sit and learn from one of the greatest to ever do it for 3 years, don't "start" a game until you're 25 years old, and inherit a team that went 13-3 the year before, I don't find that anywhere near as impressive as someone starting right off the bat, at only 21 years old and after inheriting a 2-14 team …
I also take a long-term view of both player projections and even investing in sports cards, and therefore age-related stats mean a lot to me as they point to bigger career numbers, which is what Hall of Fame Resume's are built on. I have no qualms with anyone that wants to say Aaron Rodgers at his best is a "better QB" than any other QB at their best that has ever played the game, but the fact that he didn't start his first game until he was 25 years old and since then has missed more than a full season of games due to various injuries, I highly doubt he'll have much of a shot at becoming the all-time career leader in passing yards or passing TD's … now for Rodgers that certainly should not keep him out of the HOF as his passer rating is insanely amazing and he won a SB but for most guys that alone could end their HOF bid …
Tony Romo is a QB like that … I believe he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame but he may never ever get elected, because, while his career passer rating, completion percentage and TD/Int ratio are all HOF worthy, he didn't "start" his first game until he was 26 years old and therefore his career totals in the passing yards and passing TD categories are not very impressive at all … now, imagine if he had started at the age of 21 like Jameis and many other QBs had, and had an extra 20,000 career passing yards and 125+ career passing TDs … he'd likely be a lock to make the Hall of FameLast edited by Jameis1of1; 10-05-2018 at 02:07 AM.

Today was yet another perfect example of how the media's bias has turned even the main stream sports media into a propaganda machine akin to the regular news media.
Back when the Bucs pulled Jameis from their marketing promos, it made the front page of ESPN and it took no time for the talking heads on the main stream sports networks to say that such meant Tampa was moving on from Jameis ... anyone who wasn't infected with "Winston Derangement Syndrome" knew such was not the case and that Bucs brass was simply playing the P.R. game ... but it didn't stop the media from spinning their anti-Winston narratives.
Today the Bucs rolled out their newest promotional video and the one and only player featured in it is, of course, Jameis Winston ... and this comes after head coach Dirk Koetter stated that it's Jameis' team and that Jameis will be there a lot longer than even he will be as the coach... and when you go to the ESPN front page, there's no mention of the new promo video at all ... heck, even if you go to the actual Bucs page on ESPN, there isn't even a single mention of this ... I mean, come on, the bias is just so transparent it's absurd.
But again, as I've said many times, the main stream media doesn't care about truth, they care about stories, spinning narratives, creating heroes and villains and the like ... it is what it is ...

Of course they have to cover it at some point, but that's not on the homepage but on the Bucs page, they waited a day and they still are spinning it in a negative light … they also assigned the lady reporter who smeared Jameis' birth announcement of his baby boy with a mention of some nonsense for no reason, to cover this story … typical.
Also, on First Take today, ESPN's most popular talk show, the cast used the news as a new way to rip Jameis … and they even brought in an extra castmate (i.e. Louis Riddick) who is known for being biased against Winston, rather than someone like Mark Schlereth (who they don't seem to invite when the topic is Jameis anymore, after in one debate he raved about Jameis' leadership and told a story the media refused to cover about Jameis refusing to leave during a hurricane and forcing the team owners to private jet all the player's and their family members out of the area!) ... the bias is so obvious it just cracks me up.
They used the news that the Bucs pulled Jameis from their marketing to rip Jameis, and now that the Bucs have focused their marketing solely on Jameis, they use that as a way to rip him again … it's almost like they try to spin everything in a negative way when it comes to Jameis … because … that's what they do.
I also find it hypocritical when Max Kellerman rips Jameis, as Max has admitted to physically assaulting his own wife in the past … yet Max can still flat out lie and say that the "facts" in the Uber investigation are damning … that's strange since there are no "facts" showing Jameis did anything and the allegations are still 100% unsubstantiated.
In fact, the only real "facts" are that the driver has now told 4 different versions of what happened, each worse than the last, and that the driver said she wasn't in it for the money to gain credibility during the NFL investigation, but as soon as it ended, she sued for money … those are actual facts that the media refuses to even mention, because they are invested in spinning a negative narrative … it's all so transparent and so silly.

I am too but only because I just play fantasy for fun and not for money … I had Winston on my team all last year and won the league … and this year I have Winston and Rodgers and Mahomes and I'm starting Winston just for fun, but I think Rodgers is probably the more logical choice as he had a monster game against the Lions and the 49'ers are garbage … I think Jameis will have a good individual game (though the Falcons at home should smack the Bucs and put up 40+ points) but it's his first start of the year and it's on the road, so Rodgers is the safer play imho.
By the way, Matt Ryan should be the best play of the week as the Bucs pass defense is the worst in the league, by far, for the second year in a row … Vegas has the Falcons favored, and the FPI projection gives the Falcons a 65.1% chance to win … plus, the Bucs defense is giving up an 83.3 QBR to opposing QBs this year … that's atrocious! In fact, whatever QB goes against Tampa should probably be the best fantasy QB ever week … the Bucs made Mitch Trubisky look like Dan Marino!
Do you have another QB or 2 on your roster?
Honestly, I'm relatively new to fantasy … I think it's fun and all but I don't take it seriously.Last edited by Jameis1of1; 10-12-2018 at 05:37 PM.
