What a fun game to watch! But man was Jameis balling and I loved watching him today! He completed 73.2% of his passes (that would place him 2nd in the entire NFL behind only Drew Brees on the season totals), had a passer rating of 115.4 (that would place him 4th in the entire NFL behind only Brees, Goff and Rivers on the season totals), threw for 395 yards (easily #1 in yards per game of course) and totalled 426 yards with some nice scrambles as well ...
It went almost exactly as I thought it would as I predicted the Falcons would shred the Bucs defense and win by 4 ... they shredded em and won by 5 (and the Bucs kicker missed an XP and then they went for 2 and didn't get it, to make up for the missed XP).
But, the Buccaneers "Kicker Curse" hurt them again, as had Catanzaro not missed that XP, they wouldn't have had to go for 2 and would have been able to attempt an easy 37 yard FG try at the end of the game, which had he made, would have made it 34-34 and sent the game into O.T. ... oh well ... it was a fun game regardless and that last play was a wild one!
I'm very excited to watch him and Baker Mayfield play next week ... the Browns are a fun team to watch, mostly because of Baker and we should get to see some wild QB play from both Jameis and Baker as both are gunslingers with never-say-die attitudes who think they can make every play ... I think the Browns defense and legit rushing attack gives them a huge edge though, so we'll see what happens.

Sorta correct. Instead of an injury it was four picks with one getting returned to the house. Fitzpatrick looked good (or the opposite of the Bucs defense).
Still time to make a trade before Tuesday.

The Bucs should trade a bunch of their players, including Grimes, DJax, etc. The team isn't ready to truly contend yet and a guy like Grimes doesn't seem to be in their future plans, so they might as well get something for him before letting him walk in the offseason, even if it's just a 5th rounder.
Personally, if I were the Bucs I'd try to trade Fitz and DJax to the Jaguars for a #1 and Dante Fowler … or just Fitz to the Jags for a 3rd and DJax to the Texas for a #1 or even a #2 and #4 … as for Grimes, I imagine a bunch of teams would give a 5th for him, including and maybe especially the Chiefs.
As for Jameis; I'm glad Koetter benched him as he deserved to be benched as I haven't seen him play that bad since his rookie season. It reminded me of when Matt Stafford got benched in his 7th season for Dan Orlovsky or even Stafford's 4 pick game this year … just ugly. To me, coaches always have to give their team the best chance to win and when a guy is playing wild, ugly football, and you have a capable backup behind him, it doesn't matter what position they play, bring in the backup!
The above said … Koetter is a no-nonsense type of coach and it wouldn't shock me, and I wouldn't even be upset to see him bench Jameis for the next 2 games as both the Panthers and Redskins have tough and opportunistic defenses and Jameis is turning the ball over too much as-is … plus, while I know Jameis said it was "humbling" to be benched for the first time in his life, an actual full game benching may send an even stronger message … HOWEVER … I don't think he or Fitz or even Brady or Brees could save the Bucs this season … their defense, even with their new D Coordinator still can't stop anyone, will probably end the season as the worst pass defense in NFL history, and is just laughable … whoever QBs for this team is going to need to sling the ball all over the place and try to throw for 400 yards and take risks as that's the only way to keep up with the amount of points the opposing team puts on the Bucs defense week in and week out … a game-manager who simply doesn't turn the ball over would go 0-16 on the current Bucs as they don't have the ground game or defense to win tight defensive battles whatsoever.

Personally I think the Bucs did a disservice to themselves by canning Lovie Smith. He's always built excellent defenses and he's gotten his teams into the playoffs, even the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006. I think the team ownership was worried about losing Koetter to another HC position but I don't think he or the GM has done a good job addressing deficiencies on the defense. McCoy can only do so much as one guy and David is an excellent tackler but he's getting older. The fact they were still trotting out Chris Conte at safety this season is madness.

So many Bucs fans are officially over Winston after today. Fitz isn't the future but Jameis may not be either at this point. Interested to see how this all plays out but it is a huge mess right now.

Many Bucs fans hated Jameis all the way back when he was at FSU … he was drafted to a team where 2/3 of its fans despised him, as they were Canes or Gators fans and despised Seminoles, let alone a Seminole like Jameis who went 26-1 and won a Heisman and a National Title … regardless … it is what it is and we'll see what happens … I called for him to be replaced on Twitter by Fitz for the Panthers AND Redskins games BEFORE Coach Koetter announced he would be replaced for the Panthers game … I actually think the benching is good for him and I'm glad to see the coach using tough love on the young man … Jimbo did the same thing with him in college and as we all know, Jameis was the greatest 2-year NCAA QB in history … he likes tough coaching and I applaud Koetter for using a firm hand at present and think it will benefit Jameis in the long run.
Um, no, not at all … "interceptions" are a STAT too and Jameis threw FOUR of them … he deserved to get benched and with the Panthers and Redskins coming up, two nasty defenses that thrive on creating turnovers, he deserves to sit those games … I said the same on Twitter a day before Koetter announced they'd start Fitz for the Panthers game.
However, it cracks me up that you pop up on this forum if Jameis has a bad game or fails but not when he has a good game or succeeds … I guess trolling can be fun but it just seems silly. The coach and GM have continued to maintain that Jameis is the future in Tampa and the coach in his most recent press conference said that while many teams don't even like their QB1 the Bucs like both their QBs and can play the hot hand … he's coaching for his job, so no one should fault him.
However, yahoo sports reported that the Cowboys may have been one of the teams that tried to trade for Jameis, but the Bucs don't seem to have any interest in trading him, so don't get too high and mighty … Jameis has turned the ball over far too much in his 3 starts but he also totalled 1,139 yards of offense in just 11 quarters, which would equate to a 6,627 yard season and be the biggest yardage season in the history of the NFL … he's a gunslinger who can move the ball down the field at an elite rate … he just needs to stop taking unnecessary risks and learn to live for another down, rather than trying to hit a home run on every single play … it's the same thing Favre needed to learn … but never did.
Heck, Favre once threw SIX picks with THREE pick-6's in a single game … seriously.
Hello my favorite troll, nice to see you pop up again when you feel you can gloat … however, I wouldn't get so excited if I were you as in the press conference where the coach announced he was going with Fitz for the Panthers game, he also praised Jameis, said he has no doubt Jameis will be fine going forward and that he is riding the hot hand … Koetter is coaching for his job and JW's turning the ball over too much; I applaud the temporary benching …
Even though Favre and Jameis are my two favorite QBs of all-time, they both play the same way and it makes for awesome highs and crushing lows … and ulcers for their coaches (hahaha) … and there were times the majority of Favre's coaching staffs wanted him benched (once the coaches almost mutineed as they wanted Mark Brunell to start over Favre) and of course Favre was ultimately shipped out of Green Bay and later sort of ran out of New York, and yet ended up having one of his best seasons ever in Minnesota of all places.
As for Jameis, I'm still all-in on him and have no real doubt about his future … he needs to turn the ball over less and stop thinking every play needs to gain 20 yards, but when you can total 1,139 yards in 11 quarters as Jameis has done this year when many QBs struggle to total 500 yards in that same span, his future is still brighter than any other young QB's other than maybe Mahomes and Wentz (two other dudes I love watch playing).
Regardless, have fun trolling everyone, for the time being … Tom Brady was once benched for a baseball player playing QB (Drew Henson), Johnny Unitas and Kurt Warner were once cut completely, Montana, Favre, Brees and other legends were once run out of their own towns and replaced, etc …
I take a long-term view on ALL QBs and just enjoy the ride and seeing their careers play out … Favre's career may have been even more legendary had he been benched for Mark Brunell the way the majority of the coaches are said to have demanded in Green Bay … we'll see what happens.
I'll leave ya'll with one closing thought today:
Jameis Winston Now: 12,817 career passing yards with 75 TD's & 54 INTs
Drew Brees (at the same age): 4,955 career passing yards with 25 TDs & 28 INTs
… and we all know Brees was run out of town for Rivers … but where is Brees now? On GOAT lists … r-e-l-a-xLast edited by Jameis1of1; 10-30-2018 at 01:26 PM.

Agreed. Also I don't recall New York football Giants fans trying to run Eli Manning out of town until this year and three times he led the league in throwing interceptions. If the best mark of a QB is a low amount of INTs thrown, then the best QBs ever would be guys like Chad Pennington, Alex Smith, and Tyrod Taylor. It's a part of the game and it sucks to turn it over 4 times in a game, guys will have a bad day at the office Winston's brand of football is far more entertaining than the dink and dunk.
Gotta up your troll game son. For example, did you know Jameis Winston has had as many multi-interception games as Blake Bortles since 2015? That's a troll job done right.
