I'm calling it right now... Mikheyev comes through huge in the playoffs for us this year.

That's not really a hot take considering he's been one of our more consistent players all year and finally getting a chance in an offensive role.

One of their most complete games of the season and Campbell was back to his old self and let's hope he can keep it up. Matthews and Marner continue to dominate, The third line chipped in again and the new kid did not look out of place. The fourth line is also playing the best it has all season and it might just be a matter of the vets gearing up for the playoffs.

So in the off season trade Nylander and sign Mikheyev. Free up some cap for a goaltender. For christmas I wished for the gift of a finishing touch for Mikheyev and a Nylander that was always engaged. 1 out of 2 aint bad.

Never seen a game go from being so good to turning to so bad in a period as a leafs fan minus the collapse against boston in the playoffs. This almost felt worse than that since everything was rolling and feelings were good and then everything just went bad in rapid succession in the third. Can't even fault Campbell on any of the goals. Just the typical terrible defence and FLA capitalizing on all of their chances...

Caufleid has been the best rookie scoring wise in the second half and if the Habs weren't so terrible in the first half, he would probably be the runaway winner of the ROY. I think I am the only objective Leafs fan in here lol. Leafs are hot though and back to their winning ways. Kalgreen has been a good back up and has only allowed that one terrible goal by Gudas in my memory. Gio has been everything we needed and with Nylander on the third line, our team has depth scoring wise. The fourth line has also played decent with blackwell. All is good in leaf land once again!

Marner deserves some love here too. He was the guy under the most scrutiny last year during the playoffs and he started off really slow this year, but he is having a career season and has an outside shot at 100 points. I like to watch him during games and he can do things that no one else in the league can and the biggest improvement to his offensive game this year is that he is getting open and shooting the puck and scoring. Not just that, he knows he can score when he gets open and he is playing the game like a shooter. You combine that with his elite scoring skills, solid two way game, and then you have one of the best players in the game if you ask me. Matthews is the same way in that he does everything but at a more elite level.

Another solid effort and Campbell looked good so hopefully he is back into form. Here's hoping that Matthews comes back next game so he can drive for 60! Looks like a Boston first round match up too and I think we match up very well against them namely b/c they have no proven goaltending.
