B's are going to be so-so at best. Have done nothing. Killer schedule for them in November, without Marchand, and MaCavoy (sp).

Even with them, nothing great. Sweeney and Neely, good players, lousy managers.

Hab's making cap room for Pierre Luc Diva?

This situation is going to be interesting as it develops. It is very rare that we hear about a player expressing a desire to leave his current team for another one...even moreso with the homeboys wanting to come to Montreal. And of course other GM's read the Internet too so it's widely known that he wants to be in Montreal, which depresses the value in one sense...but raises the stakes in another. Habs have very little space, even after trading Weber's contract, moving out Petry, etc. They still have to sign Kirby Dach and that will push them over the cap, which you're allowed to do in the summer. And of course they still don't know Carey's status.

I think depending on how profound PLD's feelings are, Canadiens can play the long game on this one. I doubt the Jets are going to want to take on a contract or will look at the likes of Drouin, Dvorak, Dadonov as a viable return. They aren't getting one of Suzuki/Caufield, I can assure of that. So it becomes a matter of do the Jets accept what they can, or hope it works out and they can get him signed for more than the next couple seasons before he has UFA status?

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Tough spot for the Jet's GM it seems but he is if anything patient. One article I read was that he wanted what the Hab's wouldn't part with, so that would be Suzuki or Caufield as you said. I'm in the whoever gets the best player wins the trade camp. Next's years 1st round pick would also be good but foolish for Montreal to part with. Hab's will probably just wait 2 years. As a Jet fan I wish out locker room wasn't toxic and we still had Laine.
Wheeler and Scheifele will also be UFA's in 2 years. Will be interesting to see what happens if the Jets start the year off poorly.

A few ex-teammates, Hayes and Eakins described it as the worst locker room they had ever been in. Plus there was Wheeler himself who admitted to not treating Laine very well right after he was traded. Not the right guy to be Captain it appears. Paul Stastny would have been good but it's too late now.

CBJ sign Patty Laine to a 4 year deal for 8.7 AAV.
PLD accepts Jets 1 year 6 M offer.

Jack Roslovic must be happy, assuming he centers Gaudreau and Laine.
