Canadian teams may start thinking twice about drafting Americans if they all want to go home. Trouba with the Jets was another one. I guess the reverse happened to the Islanders, with Tavares.
I read Kyrou, Krug and a 1st was offered but probably just a rumor.

The battle of Alberta was fun last year. As much as I dislike the Flames, I'd prefer they were a strong team.

Which would be difficult since both have NTC's and would have to waive. Might be able to get one, but both? Yeeps. Add in that Tarasenko is a UFA after this season...I dunno how well that one would hold up.

Honestly, being a Flames fan it is a punch in the balls. Leafs fans don't be surprised if in a couple years MVP Matthews bolts for some lacklustre American team. Why wouldn't you want to have a family in Canada where Health Care is cheaper, you don't have to worry as much about your children being shot at school, or really anywhere, and your wife, and daughter can be in control of their own bodies??? Thanks Johnny!

I'd love to see both Tkachuk brothers in Ottawa.

You may be right but Tarasenko has not rescinded his request for a trade and anyone taking on Tkachuk's potential salary will be looking at a 9-11 million dollar hit. If St. Louis is going to be that team, they need to move someone off the books.
If he's willing to accept a trade to Calgary, chances are probably pretty good that Tarasenko would be willing to sign an extension.

Tarasenko had a bounce back year last season but still not as good as Tkachuk, who is 6 years younger. Kyrou might be a better option at only 24. I didn't realize he had 75 pts last year. Not bad.

Only poor people worry about that.
Rich Americans never move to Canada.
Only the 3rd world moves here.
People with real jobs have benefits so they don't pay for healthcare or have insurance.
You pay less taxes and everything is cheaper.
