More changes by Goodell, NFL Draft Changes
PHILADELPHIA -- The NFL on Tuesday cut from 15 minutes to 10 the time between picks in the first round of its draft after a 2007 record round of 6 hours and 8 minutes.
It also moved the starting time of the draft from noon ET to 3 p.m. and limited the first day to two rounds instead of three.
"We believe this will make for a more streamlined and efficient draft," commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement issued during the league owners meetings.
The change also applied to the second round, which will go from 10 minutes to seven between choices for next year's draft, which will be held April 26-27 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
In recent years, teams have often used most of the 15 minutes in the first round, entertaining trade offers or making them.
The time between picks will stay at five minutes for the last five rounds, which will take place on Sunday. That session will start at 10 a.m. instead of 11. Both draft days will be televised by ESPN and the NFL Network.

Sort of surprised they didn't go for a venue in LA and in primetime.

This is a great idea:
The NFL on Tuesday cut from 15 minutes to 10 the time between picks in the first round. The change also applied to the second round, which will go from 10 minutes to seven between choices for next year's draft
This is a dumb idea:

I don't understand why they felt it was necessary to move the third round to the second day of the draft. All that will do is make that day longer.
I am sure that Mel Kiper doesn't like any of these changes because that means less camera time for him.

it was done for ratings...day 1 now starts at 3pm est so it will be 12 noon on the west coach before it was starting at 9am. This way they get strong ratings from every market...and they lost people by the 3rd round anyway...its only and always about money

What about the notions (hopefully just rumors) that have re-surfaced again about having the ProBowl the week before the SuperBowl and at a venue close to the SuperBowl? To me this blows!!! Hawaii loves the NFL and really looks forward to the ProBowl every year.
Also what about Goodell's idea to have a SuperBowl out of country (ie...London or Tokyo)? This stinks too!!! It's biting the hand that feeds you. Football is an American sport. We've made it as popular as it is. It's died everywhere else. Let the rest of the world have their own football (ie..soccer).
The SuperBowl must stay in America!!!
Sorry for the rant...

Goodell has got to go... He is the worst NFL commissioner ever. Isn't this the same guy that proposed that the Super Bowl be played overseas sometime in the years to come? He's an idiot.

wow...overreact a bit much. His Super Bowl proposal was for like 2013...I am sure things can change in a multitude of ways before then. Goodell has done a great job.
