With the 14th pick of the 2008 Draft the Chicago Bears Select..........Chris Williams SR. Vanderbilt

Before everyone harps about the Bears needing a QB, or a Runningback, or a reciever, yada yada yada, we need to address the biggest problem the Bears have, the offensive line, with the departure of Ruben Brown at Guard, and Fred Miller at Right tackle (thank you Lord), their are some big holes that need to be filled in an offensive line that was absolutely horrendous last year. Also Williams is a Natural Left Tackle which would enable the Bears to move John Tait back to his original, more comfortable position, right tackle, williams is big, athletic, smart, and very versatile in the case they need to move him to guard. He is a perfect fit for their offense in opening holes for the running game, or effective pass blocking off the edge. Chris Williams will be a steal at 14, but i think he'll be gone by then. To address the other needs: The Bears signed Grossman and Orton to 1 yr. contracts, which pretty much indicates, QB position isnt a really high priority on the draft list, while i do believe they will take a QB in 2nd or 3rd, as well as a running back. Lets not count out Cedric Benson yet, 4th overall selection in the 2005 draft, He only showed a glimpse of what he was capable of with easily one of the worst offensive lines.(meaning the last two games before he got hurt) The draft is fairly decent in Running back depth, and i could see the bears easily picking up a nice fit later in the draft...ex. chris johnson, kevin smith, steve slaton. by later meaning 2nd or 3rd round, As far as the recieving core goes w/ additions of Marty Booker, and Brandon Lloyd, a healthy Mark bradley, and the show stopper Devin Hester at the helm, the Bears could look for a more physical reciever in the later rounds, or for a home run hitter w/ speed. Either way, Offensive line is their number 1 !!!!! need, and will be addressed in the 1st round, I hope its williams, but if hes gone, it will be Otah from Pitt, let me know what ya'll think

    Thanks Eric

Well this one is easy.. after all the TOP OL are taken i am gonna go with

    Rashard Mendenhall |RB| Illinois

sure the lions need many holes to fill but might as well start here.. George Foster obviously is not the answer but there are no good O linemen left at this pick where you couldnt take them later

They also need linebackers but can address that in round 2 in Jered Mayo and can get a lower end offensive lineman in the 3rd rd

I for one dont think we should take him if clady or williams are still there as ray rice, mike hart, felix jones and the kid from tulane will be there in the later rounds and we kill any rb we take but i think this is what Millen is gonna do to fill more seats..

There are two positions that we will be looking for with this pick. They are running back and corner back. Edge is getting old and has not proved very much with what he has shown us these past two years. He has shown that running backs have short careers though! He is going to need someone to take some of the load off of him and jj arrington is not the answer now or in the future. A back that has good potential would do us good. We also need help in the defensive backfield. With Antrel Rolle moving to to safety we will need a replacement. Eric Green has shown heart, charisma and is a fan fav when he gets in there but he is not a real solution. The signing of Rod Hood should definitely help out as well. Because we have already spent money at this position this offseason and we have a guy with some experience as our #2 we won't spend our first round pick here. But we will look for a CB (especially UofA's Antione Cason...an instate product)

With the 16th pick in the NFL draft the Arizona Cardinals select....Jonathan Stewart RB, Oregon

This guy will be exactly what we need to split with Edge. He hasn't proven that he can handle a full NFL workload but we will be able to get him into the role while Edge is still here. Edge will also be able to mentor him. Stewart has great strength and speed and will be a great puch in the backfield. He has great potential and a wonderful future ahead of him. He will be a great addition to the Cardinals.

With the 17th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft the Minnesota Vikings select Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville.

The Vikings most pressing need after the addition of WR Bernard Berrian and addition of S Madieua Williams is actually a Defensive end. With Udeze possibly out for the season battling cancer and Erasmus James just a slim margin away from being called a bust, one would assume this slot would be a DE. Recent signings for the Vikings at the position have barely helped, but the bigger playmakers are already off the board at this point. Look for them to pick one up in the 2nd or 3rd round.

This pick comes down to the teams faith in Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Brad Childress has hinted towards him being the starter but as the offseason has progressed it has become readily visible that he is worried going into next season. The Vikings are a player or two away from being a powerhouse in the NFL and the most pressing need is at the QB position. Passing on Brian Brohm at this position will be nearly impossible for the Vikings to do. With only Bollinger backing up Tarvaris Jackson, this would be a smart pick by the Vikings as it becomes increasingly obvious Tarvaris Jackson is not the Quarterback of the future for the Vikings.
