Sounds like a lack of trust...Consider this...Say you do 100 trades all with DC. That's an EXTRA $75 just to ship those cards. I'd bet most of the younger traders can't afford that. There are a lot of young traders, and a lot of GREAT young traders for that matter, on the site. You'd be losing half of your possible trade partners right off the bat.

To answer your question, no I would not give the trader a neutral rating just because they didnt enter the dc#. I have never done that, nor will I. All I am saying is, it would be nice if dc was used to mail the package, then why not spend the 2 seconds to enter it into the trade manager. I know your busy, so am I, and so is everybody else who trades here probably. I'm not going to argue that point with you. But come on, how long does it really take to enter the number?

Well I did 117 trades last month. I have a 2 year old, a pregnant wife and 3 jobs.
But true!
I honestly don't have time to enter the DC unless asked.
But I'm with Ed, I don't use DC or I use insurance if the trade is high dollar. Other than that, forget it. I pay .75 and ship to Ed or another big trader. If Ed tells me that he didn't get it - then guess what - Ed didn't get it.
I had a guy with 140+ feedback and I shipped two cards to him. He said that he didn't receive them so I sent him two more. I had the receipt that proved that I shipped it and generally speaking that is enough proof that a person did what they were supposed to do.
I don't expect people to pay for DC on their end either.

My thoughts on this....
I'm fairly new here. Only been trading here for about 2 months. One of my very first trades I did when I joined, I was screwed by the other trader. I sent that trader $26 money order and I never received the 3 cards I was suppose to. I obviosly disputed the trade and I was told by one of the moderators to send with DC from now on and not to be so cheap. He said it only costs .75 cents and that I should spend the money when I ship something. So being a new trader, I listened to him and have been doing it ever since. So please don't fault me because I was told to do something and not to be so cheap.

This isn't an argument. You asked a question and I'm discussing it with you.
Remember you made the statement you won't trade with people unless they give you a number from the post office. This hobby is trust based. If you feel the need to check on DC numbers till you get what is owed I'm just saying maybe this hobby isn't for you. I've done hundreds of trades and never once have I ever checked a DC number even when they provided one! But I do like that you are trying to be upfront with things you want when trading, as some folks expect things but just assume instead of talking it over with their partners!

I really don't want to argue whether someone is too busy or not. I have two kids and a wife. I also sell cars at a huge Toyota dealership and work 70 hours a week. If someone spent the money to send with DC, take the 2 secs to enter it. Thats all I'm saying.

I think his feedback was 12 at the time. Mine was 0. But he no longer trades here. He was banned.

well you were not obligated to send first. in the rules if both traders are new traders they must send at the same time
