yes, the celtics are better then the old suns trio, and yes, i believe thay are better then the spurs trio. look at their record in their FIRST seaso togethor.
im not gonna lie, i wanted them out in the first round against atlanta and the next round as well but im tired of fans from the other team hating on them and dumping garbage on them just because there nervous to see there team lose to them.
if you ont like them, i can understand why, but at least give them some respect they are amazing.

yankeeman - Spurs have actually won 4 rings since 1999, and 3 rings since 2003....
One thing I don't quite understand - and maybe this is cuz I am a Garnett fan, but so many people say Duncan is the best PF by far in the NBA....I don't think so....Duncan is a fantastic player, but I don't think he's the best. I think the reason so many people think he is the best is because of the 4 rings....if it wasn't for those, and if people didn't care about championships, I think Garnett would be on top....they both have similar stats, but KG has a jump shot....Duncan doesn't have much of one, IMO

They need to win a title before crowning them the best trio in the game. That's my opinion.

Duncan does have a jump shot. He also has the sweetest jump shot off the glass in the game. No, that isn't being bias. How many other NBA players can bank an 18 footer off the glass with 60-70% accuracy?
Also, Duncan has a much better post up game than Garnett. That is one reason why many regard Duncan the best PF in the game and one of the best ever.
Heck, lets look at the regular season stats for 07/08.
Garnett avg 18.8 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 3.4 apg, and 1.3 bpg in 32.8 mpg.
Duncan avg 19.3 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 2.8 apg, and 1.9 bpg in 34.0 mpg.

Yup, As much as I dont want to I have to agree with the Texan on this one. Tim Duncan is the best PF in the game right now.

I didn't say he doesn't have a jump shot...just said I think Garnett's is better....maybe we're both being a little bias
As for the stats....this is KG's worst year since his second season, and that's cuz he now has 2 future HOF's on his team too....yes, Duncan has Parker and Manu, but he's been playing with them for how long now? This is KG's first season playing with honest-to-goodness great players.
On a side note - Garnett is the only player to play at all 5 positions in one game (not sure how he did it, but I've read that before).

Oh, and I would agree that Duncan is one of the best PF's ever too....right behind Garnett

I really can't think of any other great PF's...Karl Malone, Larry Bird....I know there are others, just can't think....but anyway, Duncan and Garnett should be in the top 5 of all time IMO.

I am not trying to disagree, nor am I agreeing.. what I am going to try to say is that there is just over one minute per game difference here.. I know that doesn't seem like a whole lot, but if you were to add them all up.. just how far behind Duncan would KG be? if you look at their stats as they are, thats pretty darn close.. and you also need to keep in mind that for many of KG's career, he didn't have the same type of supporting cast as did Duncan..

The 1.2 mpg extra may even up their ppg...thats about it.
Duncan's supporting cast was brought in to compliment him. Guys like Parker and Ginobili, were drafted. They've meshed together to become the best trio in the league, imo. Garnett, Allen, and Pierce are all established stars in this league. Garnett was in Minnesota for 10+ years so they had plenty of time to build a team around him, but they couldn't. Also, I feel that Garnett's contract hurt Minnesota for years. If he took a paycut, they had opportunities to sign key free agents. $20 million a year?
